Zagreb Pride

Zagreb Pride is the queer-feminist and anti-fascist activist association behind Zagreb's annual Pride march, the Povorka ponosa, held every June since 2002. It was the organiser of the first Pride march in any post-Yugoslav state, an event that in its early years required heavy police protection and faced violent opposition, and which has since grown into an annual celebration drawing many thousands of participants. Beyond the march, Zagreb Pride runs year-round advocacy, legal and community-support work for the LGBTIQ community in Croatia. The association is a central reference point for anyone wanting to understand — or take part in — organised queer life in the capital.
