Prague Pride Festival 2027
About This Event
Prague Pride is central Europe's biggest, a week-long festival in the first half of August, and 2026 brings its biggest change in years: the whole centre of gravity moves to Štvanice, the island in the Vltava, and the parade gets a new route roughly twice as long as before. The 2026 motto is "Times Are Changing" — and for this festival it is literal.
The week runs 3–9 August, more than a hundred events across the city. The parade is Saturday 8 August: people gather on Wenceslas Square from 10am and set off at noon, and instead of the old march to Letná, the 2026 route winds through the old town — Na Příkopě, náměstí Republiky, Celetná, Old Town Square, Pařížská, along the river and over the Hlávkův bridge — finishing at Pride Park on Štvanice Island. It is free and car-free.
Pride Park is the new hub: five stages on the island, open late, with food and drink and the festival's community heart. There is a suggested contribution of 200 Kč, which gets you a wristband through GoOut; most other festival events around the city are free. The director's pitch for the move is a smaller, greener, more community-minded Pride, away from the mass-party model.
Practical notes: Prague is compact and the metro and trams are excellent and cheap, so you will not need taxis. Štvanice is a short walk or tram ride from the centre. August is warm and can turn humid with afternoon storms — bring a layer. The gay bars cluster in Vinohrady, and they run the late nights all week.
