Classic Hotel centrally located for restaurant and tourist destinations in Lyon, France. Nice elegant classic feel. Service was great. Rooms small but very nice.

We loved this hotel for its location, historic charm, family-friendly atmosphere, and surprisingly spacious rooms. Even the elevator is beautiful and adds to the character of the property. The location truly could not be better - right in the middle of everything and within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and major sights. Communication before arrival was excellent. The staff provided restaurant and itinerary recommendations and made an effort to keep our two rooms close together so we could stay near our kids. Unfortunately, there were some issues during our stay. Upon arrival, our adult room was not located near the kids’ suite as originally requested, so we upgraded to the Carlton Room, which turned out to be lovely. It was very spacious with a queen bed, an additional cot, and a beautiful bathroom featuring both a tub and shower. We actually preferred this room over the suite. Our kids stayed in the Junior Suite Rotonde, the hotel’s largest room category. It was also spacious and comfortable, with a king bed plus a pull-out sofa bed and plenty of room for our three kids and all their luggage without feeling cramped. The biggest issue was the kids’ room, which had a very strong smoke/cigar-like odor from the moment we arrived. Although the hotel eventually sent someone with an air filtration machine, it took until the evening of the second day to address the problem. By then, one of our children was already feeling unwell and ended up spending much of the remainder of our Lyon vacation resting in our room instead of enjoying the city. Even after the treatment, the room still never smelled truly fresh. To the hotel’s credit, the staff did send up macarons as a thoughtful gesture to cheer the kids up, which we appreciated. Still, it was disappointing that roughly half of our four-night stay was impacted by an issue that significantly affected our comfort and overall experience. For our final night, we moved to the Cozy Room with 1 Double Bed due to availability. This was our least favorite room. It felt quite limited in space, and the bathroom does not have a door, which may not work well for everyone. Overall, this hotel has a lot of charm, an excellent location, and genuinely attentive pre-arrival service, but the room odor issue unfortunately had a significant impact on our stay.

I highly recommend this hotel; it has a superb location and parking is available by reservation. The staff are friendly, helpful, kind, and offer great advice! We will be back.

A moment away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. From the valet to the bartender, all the staff are attentive, helpful, and professional. Spacious and clean rooms, a complete and delicious breakfast (even if the groups can sometimes be noisy...) and an unusual setting. An ideally located hotel in the heart of the city, a dreamy, protective haven...
