via Stay22About this place Bar Saint Jean
Bar Saint Jean is a tiny, intimate basement bar in Berlin's Steinstraße, where owner Johann Courgibet mixes sophisticated cocktails and long drinks in an über-elegant, low-lit space.
This isn't a rowdy spot. It's the kind of place where someone's actually thought about the lighting, the glassware, and how your drink tastes. You notice it.
Berlin's gay bar scene runs the gamut, from dive bars to polished lounges. This one leans toward polished. The basement location helps keep it feeling like a secret, and Courgibet's French sensibility is evident in the meticulous design and operation. If you're after a gay-friendly bar that prioritizes craft and quiet conversation, this is a good bet.
You'll find it at 21 Steinstraße, a spot that's easy enough to get to if you're exploring Berlin's LGBTQ+ nightlife. Come for the drinks, stay for the vibe. It's a small place, but every detail feels intentional.
