Südblock

Südblock is a gay bar and club in Kreuzberg, a place with a conscience. It's been around since December 2010, an alternative spot that feels very Berlin: creative, a little rough around the edges, doing a lot of things at once. It's a club, sure, but also a relaxed hangout. They have a beer garden, and a big corner terrace that looks out onto Kottbusser Tor. Great for watching the chaos unfold. They make their own cakes, so you can stop in for something sweet anytime. And the karaoke here isn't just karaoke; they put their own spin on it. You'll find it at Skalitzer Straße 2, right by the Kottbusser Tor U-Bahn stop. It’s a real Kreuzberg institution, and a good counterpoint to some of the more generic gay bars you might find elsewhere.
