About this place Nocti Vagus

Nocti Vagus does dinner differently in Berlin's gay restaurant scene: You eat in the dark. It's on Saarbrücker Straße, and this LGBTQ+-friendly spot serves every meal in complete darkness. The idea is to make you focus on taste, texture, and smell, getting your senses going in a way most restaurants don't even try. But it’s not just about the dark. The place also puts on live music, comedy, and poetry readings. So you get dinner and a show, all rolled into one. It’s a good spot if you’re looking for something more than just another meal out, whether you’re visiting or you live here. Berlin's queer dining scene is known for being inventive, and Nocti Vagus fits right in. If you're up for eating blind, or just want to see what Berlin's queer hospitality is doing, this place gives you a story to tell. Check their website for reservations, menus, and what’s on.

1: sit and wait 20 minutes to order a drink. 2. Wait 40 minutes for a drink 3. Wait 1 hour for food 4. Soggy, tasteless salad 5. Wait 45 minutes 6. Soup. Good. 7. Wait 45 minutes. 8. Main course. Unseasoned chicken with unseasoned unroasted potatoes and a can of vegetables. Or disgusting fish, a can of vegetables and terrible croquettes. 9. Wait 45 minutes 10. Dessert some horrible, soggy fruit salad with melted ice cream and disgusting, floury "pie"? 11. Wait 30 minutes to get out! We came out at 11! I had children with me. The noise level was terrible, the service non-existent and the food disgusting. Sorry. I really wanted to like this. But interesting concept.

We had the creepy show in the evening. The food wasn't worth €60. The service from Doreen was great. The reading was after dinner. The text portion was very short. The show had scary effects. This was our second time there, and we were disappointed. You can definitely spend €80 better.

It was a truly unique experience! Being in complete darkness and not being able to see anything was unusual at first, but incredibly exciting. You really notice how your other senses become heightened. I honestly can't understand the negative comments about the food – it's all about the experience, not just the food. A huge thank you to the entire team, especially our super friendly waiter for the excellent service! We'll definitely be back.

You have to experience it at least once. It's strange to rely on all your senses except sight. But definitely an experience! The food was very good, and the service (from Doreen) was excellent! I would appreciate it if they provided a sample plate afterward, even just a photo, so you could see what you've just eaten. But overall, I highly recommend it!
