Kempinski Taschenberg Palais

I spent two days here and am leaving the hotel with decidedly mixed feelings. The location in Dresden is fantastic. Almost all the sights – Semperoper, Zwinger, Frauenkirche – are within easy walking distance. The hotel was completely renovated in 2024, and it shows. Everything is very beautiful, new, and well-designed. The breakfast is among the best in top German hotels. The 1705 Bar is great. I had a fantastic club sandwich there. Now for the minor drawbacks: check-in wasn't prepared. The late check-out wasn't recorded, so the room key was unusable after 12:00. There were relatively long wait times for orders at Café Amalie. On the last morning, my included Wi-Fi stopped working. And unfortunately, there was a noise disturbance from guests on the same floor, which was not addressed. Nevertheless, we would gladly return because you won't find another hotel in Dresden with a comparable atmosphere.

During our stay, access to the parking garage was closed on some evenings. Information about this would have been very helpful. As it was, we stood at reception in frustration.

We spent a total of 3 nights at this beautiful hotel. Perfect location and a lovely 'grand hotel' vibe, yet modern and excellently maintained. Very friendly staff, good facilities, a beautifully decorated building, and a stunning room (Grand Palais room). Everything felt new and clean, with great attention to detail. It was pure bliss. Incidentally, we did not have breakfast; we had that in town. Parking is easy under the hotel for 25E per night. Definitely recommended for a return visit.

This hotel is great! Came and checked in with my wife and family and rooms are great. Bed is comfy. Location is solid. Smart tv. Customer service been amazing. Good bar and restaurants in hotels as Well! Gym is quaint and spa is small but offers Lot of services.

We had a truly wonderful stay at the Taschenbergpalais in Dresden. What touched us most was the outstanding service, the warmth of the team, and the impeccable cleanliness of the hotel. Our room was very quiet and offered a fantastic view of the Semperoper, which is only a few minutes away on foot. We had dinner at the hotel before attending a performance at the Semperoper. Although we arrived late, the restaurant team did everything possible to serve us quickly and smoothly, so we could enjoy dinner without stress and still arrive at the opera on time. The hotel is also a perfect base for exploring Dresden, Meissen, and the beautiful surroundings. For a romantic escape, I can only highly recommend it. It exceeded our expectations in every way. I have travelled to many places, but this hotel is truly special.

Great hotel, everything very clean and tidy… courteous and always friendly staff. Nevertheless, this hotel didn't quite live up to expectations for its category. There were two negative aspects. We booked a suite for three adults… when I inquired beforehand about where the third person would sleep, I was told that an extra bed would be set up. With over 50 square meters, that's certainly doable… I was then very surprised when I entered the room to find a folding bed/camp bed! This is absolutely unacceptable; we traveled with three adults… not with a child as the third person! Had this been communicated transparently when I inquired, I would have booked two double rooms, which would have been cheaper, and everyone would have had a proper bed. I raised this issue with the staff. They said they would look into what could be done, but I received no further feedback. Another point was the breakfast. Great, bright, and clean facilities. The buffet offered a good selection, but it could be better… for example… I don't expect butter in small, individually wrapped plastic trays—that has a hospital feel to it… The staff was very friendly, but unfortunately completely overwhelmed. It took ages for someone to come to our table to take our order for egg dishes and coffee/tea. Forget about a second order or even a spontaneous inquiry about whether we needed anything else. It's a shame… we still felt comfortable, and I think these individual problems can be resolved.

An absolutely first-class experience at the Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden. From check-in, we received an exceptionally warm welcome, and throughout our stay, the entire staff was attentive, professional, and consistently friendly. The rooms are stylishly furnished, spotlessly clean, and offer a perfect blend of luxury and comfort. The central location right in the heart of the Old Town was particularly impressive – many sights are within easy walking distance. The breakfast was outstanding, with a wide selection of fresh, high-quality dishes. The spa and wellness area is also perfect for relaxation. Overall, a top-tier hotel with excellent service and a special ambiance. Definitely a clear recommendation for anyone looking to enjoy a luxurious stay in Dresden.

A very nice hotel with a superb design concept that beautifully combines tradition and modernity! It was extremely quiet, despite the concert in the Zwinger Palace. The only downside was the staff, who seemed very disinterested. There was no warmth whatsoever… except for the housekeeping staff, who all had smiles!

An absolute gem and perhaps the best 5-star hotel in Germany right now. This hotel truly impresses: - Perfect location - Beautiful, recently renovated rooms with extremely high-quality furnishings - Friendly and competent service - Fantastic pool and sauna area We keep coming back to this wonderful hotel (castle). Since the high-quality renovation, the rooms are a dream. The service is very competent and friendly. Especially if something doesn't go quite right, you can be sure that if you let them know, it will be taken care of. (Unfortunately, that's not always the case.) The hotel offers comprehensive service, which, upon request, also includes the turndown service (rooms are prepared in the evening for the night), a service often neglected in many other hotels. The only thing that could be improved is the pastries at breakfast. Their quality (not crispy) doesn't match the otherwise high-quality food. The kitchen staff should also be more mindful of the fact that guests can hear every word being said during breakfast due to the open kitchen. The fitness room could be a bit larger, but it's adequate if needed. Everything else was always great during our visits, and we will definitely come back.
