About this place Luxushotel Suites

Luxushotel Suites is a gay-friendly hotel in Dresden, Saxony, a short walk from the Frauenkirche in the city’s historic center. It’s part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group, which means you’ll find a certain level of comfort and service.

Dresden has slowly become more open to gay travelers, with more places catering to them. Staying at a dedicated gay hotel like this one means you’re guaranteed a warm reception and a place where you can relax. Small Luxury Hotels tend to focus on specifics: good service, nice details, and a bit of personality—things that matter when you want more than a generic chain hotel.

The hotel is on Salzgasse, so you can walk to most of Dresden's sights: museums, galleries, and the Elbe River. If you’re here for the culture, to check out the local gay scene, or just for a comfortable bed in a pretty city, this hotel works. It’s a good base in one of Saxony’s most important cities. Check their site for rates and what’s included.

We stayed at this hotel from Friday to Saturday. The location is perfect, right next to the Frauenkirche in Dresden. We received a free room upgrade and were able to enjoy a direct view of the Frauenkirche. What can I say? The room was stylishly furnished and clean. The bed was really comfortable. The breakfast was high-quality and varied. I think it won't be our last visit.

The location deserves top marks! Otherwise, the hotel has a bit of retro charm. A bathtub with a shower screen isn't my favorite. Breakfast is good – the selection is constantly being updated – small portions of cold cuts and cheese are offered. Eggs Benedict and fried eggs are delicious. I had to pay upon check-in – no problem – but still unusual.

The hotel's location is very central. The breakfast area is, frankly, a joke. The buffet is very cramped, and there are very few tables. The air conditioning in the room is a joke; no matter how you adjust it, nothing happens. The air in the room remains musty. The day before our departure, we specifically informed reception that we wanted our car parked in front of the hotel at 10:15 a.m. Unfortunately, this wasn't done, and we had to wait until 10:38 a.m. for our car. This simply shouldn't happen in a 4.5-star hotel. Because of this oversight, we were late for our appointment with perfumer Herrich. We travel a lot and have experience with 4- and 5-star hotels. We cannot recommend this hotel. It's all show and no substance. Breakfast is overpriced at €29. The rooms are also very noisy; I was woken up at 6:30 a.m. by loud noises from chairs scraping. Our son couldn't even connect his PlayStation to the TV because all the ports were blocked by wooden strips. We had spent two nights each in Prague and Poland earlier that week, and our son had no problem doing this there. Apparently, they don't want us to use too much electricity. It's also outrageous that I, as a hotel guest, have to pay a fee of €3.70 to use the indoor pool. That should normally be included for hotel guests!
