What reviewers say

Visitors frequently praise the friendly welcome and the fantastic location, which offers both nature and easy access to the city. However, some guests complain about the thin curtains and bare rooms, while others found the booking process difficult and the facilities, like the spa and pool, have limited opening hours and some unexpected extra charges.

Good location, relatively quick access to the city center yet still plenty of nature. Very, very friendly welcome.

We have been coming here for years and always have a great time. A bit of decoration in the rooms would be nice, such as some beautiful photos on the walls, because it is quite bare right now. And the curtains are very thin, so it gets light early in the summer. But otherwise, it is a lovely hostel, and the location is especially fantastic. And super friendly owners who are always there for you!

We tried for an hour to call the owners, but only got their voicemail. The booking code didn't work either, and then they wanted us to pay cancellation fees. So I definitely cannot recommend them.

One thing to keep in mind when reviewing this is that I paid €60 for a double room for one night. You can't expect too much for that price. The hostel is rather haphazardly furnished, the bathrooms are outdated, and the kitchen is designed for the bare minimum. Since we only wanted to stay one night in Freiburg as cheaply as possible, it was okay. But we didn't do much more than sleep there. We took an Uber to the city center for €10. No one minded that we stayed a little longer on our check-out day. We only saw two other guests.

For me this place was a Paradies, not only because of the Nature around but for the hospitality of the "owners" (act with kind, Respekt and Humanity). Far away the best experience I've ever had in a hostel!

Superb family-run inn. It's clean, comfortable, and everything you need is provided. It's very friendly. And the owner is lovely and always available. We had a wonderful holiday season.
