CSD Gelsenkirchen
About This Event
CSD Gelsenkirchen is a small, openly political Pride in the Ruhr city, branded "CSD gegen Rechts" (Pride against the far right). It has a demo, a street festival and an after-party.
On 17 May 2025 it was called off just before the start. Police had passed on a non-specific attack warning for a Pride somewhere in North Rhine-Westphalia, and the queer youth centre "together" decided to cancel. Up to 600 people had registered and about 100 were already there.
For 2026, the alliance planned a demo from Alter Markt on 16 May. We couldn't find a report confirming it went ahead. The 2027 date hadn't been announced when we checked.
