READING & DISCUSSION with SHILA BEHJAT, Journalist & Lawyer
Shila Behjat's vivid reportage shows what the world can learn from the courage of women – a call for a feminism of strength!
From Iran to Belarus, from Fridays for Future to major discrimination debates – revolutions and social change processes often have a female face today. Starting with the courageous women in Iran, the award-winning journalist Shila Behjat asks about the specifics of female protest. Conversations with the leaders of the movements create a vivid reportage that shows: Even under the most adverse circumstances, women have long ceased to be mere victims and are protagonists of history.
Has the female age already dawned? "Frauen und Revolution" is a committed plea – for a new image of women, a feminism of strength, and female solidarity that knows no national borders.
"Exposing Western, patriarchal thought patterns – that's exactly what makes the essay not only a pointed but also a strong read." Anne-Kathrin Weber, Deutschlandfunk
