Premier Inn Leipzig City Oper Hotel

The location is super central, the rooms are quiet, quite small but functional and nicely furnished. The staff is very friendly and helpful. One star deducted because the carpet in the room had definitely seen better days. It had several large stains and discolorations, giving it a dingy appearance and detracting from the overall impression.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel has an underground parking garage where, with a little luck, you can usually find a space. If not, there's another underground parking garage 200 meters away at Augustusplatz. The room and bathroom are clean. Personally, I don't like that all newer hotels don't have wardrobes or dressers. You basically have to live out of your suitcase. The location between the main train station and Leipzig city center is ideal. Everything is easily accessible on foot. There was a sufficient selection at breakfast.

Hotel in a great location. Quickly located near the train station, S-Bahn station, and pedestrian zone. The rooms are clean and spacious. There's something for everyone at breakfast. Some of the staff are very friendly and helpful, while others seem completely uninterested. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel over a weekend. We booked directly with the hotel. We arrived early, staff put our bags in storage until we came back for check in. Elevators were small but quick, keycard access. Our room was on the sixth floor at the far end. We had a double bed with small couch and desk, tea kettle and cups. Small closet for clothes, no safe. The room had a strange layout, and seemed quite used. The walls had lots of scrape marks, the carpet looked a bit dirty. I kept opening the windows to try and air out a musty smell. I disliked the bathroom. The door faced wrong into the hall, and would not stay open. The fan did not work, bathroom would get very foggy. The tub had only a half pane of glass so water was always splashing on the floor. Not enough towel hooks despite a huge blank wall. Combination rain shower head and nozzle with finicky controls. The bed was okay, mattress on the softer side. I did not sleep well here for two main reasons: noise and light. One of the blackout curtains did not reach the wall, and would let in the sun every morning. The room doors in the hallway would always slam loudly when closing. And the trams are so loud. Our room faced a side street, and even with windows closed we could still hear the frequent trams rumble by. For some reason, the trams in Leipzig are so much louder than anywhere else we stayed. Not the hotel's fault, but important to know. The good side is that the hotel is very close to the main train station and easy access to trams to go places. Front desk staff were always nice. Housekeeper was very helpful. Price was fair but I would look to stay somewhere else if we return.

The rooms are nice in principle, but it's noisy! Very noisy! I booked it to get some sleep very late at night as a stopover before and after my trip, but it's by far the noisiest hotel I've ever had to sleep in. There was a runway right outside the window every minute. A heads-up at check-in would have been helpful, and if rooms are available, they should generally offer guests rooms facing the courtyard. Actually, there was no mention of this at check-in. Then there's a lot of noise everywhere early in the morning. Also completely new to my hotel experience: someone briefly entered our room early in the morning, how that's even possible... Breakfast costs €17.90, which is also quite expensive. I booked it for just over €80, which is okay, but sleep is the main thing, which was difficult here. Today, the cheapest room costs €150. I have no idea how or where the other guests managed to book quiet rooms... The location is good, and the cleanliness, etc., is also good. And to echo a previous commenter regarding the special feature mentioned in the hotel description: There is toilet paper and towels. And also a bed. And practically always a locked door to the room.

The price-performance ratio is balanced.

We were very satisfied. Unfortunately, the breakfast isn't as substantial for visitors who don't eat sausage or eggs.

We stayed in a "family room" as a family with two small children. Unfortunately, the room wasn't really suitable for families. It was far too cramped and small, and the bathroom had absolutely no storage space for four people. The service was good, and the staff provided the children with coloring materials. All in all, the hotel is okay, but for families, it's more like a 3-star hotel.

I can't understand the negative comments. We stayed at the hotel for three nights as a family. We received a very friendly welcome, and everything was explained clearly. Underground parking in the building costs €22 per night, and there's a public parking space a two-minute walk away for €15. Generally, the prices are to be expected, being right in the city center. Breakfast was excellent. All the staff were very focused on cleanliness and order. Everything was always plentiful, and even half-full bowls and platters were constantly replenished. Since I didn't immediately understand how the water dispenser worked at the buffet, and my tea was cold, the very attentive waiter even brought me a new one. :-) The bar in the lobby was quite busy in the evenings. The prices were absolutely reasonable, especially considering the friendly staff. The room was very spacious, even for four people, and the bathroom was very large. A TV, kettle, and sufficient tea and coffee sticks were provided. Refills were available at reception, and fresh towels were also available. Room cleaning upon request was perfectly acceptable. You don't usually create this much mess when you're out all day, so it's also resource-efficient. My conclusion: for a hotel that advertises low prices, the service is more than above average. I'd gladly stay again!
