The hotel is very cozy and stylish, and the location is excellent - close to the center but very peaceful. The breakfast was really nice. My room was spacious and very clean. I would highly recommend Hotel Akureyri for your Icelandic adventures! 👌

Staying here felt less like checking into a hotel and more like stepping into a living gallery. From the moment you walk through the lobby, every corner — the hallways, the restaurant, the guest rooms — has been thoughtfully curated with art and design that makes you stop and look twice. It's the kind of place where even a quiet moment between breakfast and checkout feels like something worth savoring. The on-site Michelin-starred restaurant is an experience in itself — reservations are recommended and absolutely worth planning ahead for. If you're looking for a hotel in Akureyri that offers far more than just a place to sleep, this is it. Every minute here was a pleasure.

A trendy hotel with beautiful decor and a great location near the city center. The staff is young and energetic from check-in. Our superior room offered a stunning view of the fjord and excellent amenities. Unfortunately, the blinds on the nine skylights in our room were out of order, and the staff discovered this at the same time as we did. Since they had no other room of that type to offer us, their only solution was to provide us with (uncomfortable) sleep masks to help us sleep despite the midnight sun. They didn't even offer a complimentary drink at the bar as compensation for a room costing nearly €300. A poor customer experience, which is a shame.

Comfortable room with a smart TV, the only one of our trip, but the view from the room was awful; stones completely blocked the view to the floor below. You have to leave the hotel and go to the neighboring hotel for breakfast, which was otherwise very complete. Unfortunately, this leg of the trip was marred by the room selection, the usual gamble when you're left to a random choice.

Hotel in the center of Akureyri near the pedestrian zone, modernly furnished rooms, small bathroom, a bar in the hotel lobby, adequate breakfast in the building two doors down.

I was initially placed in a room with bad smell. Told the reception about it, the guy checked their laptop and said THEY ARE AWARE of the issue and offered another room in their second building 😁 The first room was around 8 square meters I guess, almost had a panic attack. The second room was at the 5th roof floor with diagonal walls that I can touch with my head, a bit more space but the walls take it all so I could not stay there longer. Instead, was chilling in hotel lobby then just had a sleep and got out. Nice breakfast though.

A great choice for accommodation. Centrally located with easy parking. Modern and very well-equipped. The room was tastefully decorated and well-appointed; the only drawback was its size, but from what we've seen, that's typical in Iceland. Excellent breakfast buffet with a wide variety and high quality. Very professional and friendly staff.

No complaints whatsoever... €138 for two people in a basic double room (in May, I should add). Admittedly small, but clean, very nice, and well-equipped. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Finally, I'd say the breakfast is so incredible that it alone should convince you.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel! Super cool vibe, staff lovely, and the breakfast was great! The cinnamon bun was one of the best things I ate the entire trip!
