Unfortunately, I couldn't find soap in the sink, only one face towel was provided for two people who aren't a couple but share a room, the shower drain was clogged with hair, the reading lamps didn't work, and I found the breakfast lacking in variety. The location, the hot tub, the refrigerator, and the Nespresso machine were highlights. All of these issues could be resolved if the rooms were checked before guests checked in.

Great place to stay! Pros: - very clean, modern, and comfortable room - self check-in /check out is flexible - ample parking - many EV chargers on site (for extra fee) - nice shared kitchen with fridge space, microwave, and toaster (we also had an in room fridge/freezer) - very quiet Cons: - not walkable from town center (we knew this and enjoyed being on the mountain but it’s worth knowing) - totally self service hotel with no way to contact any staff should an issue arise (even something as simple as needing more towels). - front door and hotel room accessed via a four digit pin that expired on check out. We had moved out of our room but stayed in the common kitchen area to eat breakfast and my husband got locked out when moving items to the car shortly after 11:30. If there was a rule against staying in the common areas past check-out, we were not aware of it. Would be nice to have two separate codes to avoid this or otherwise make check out policies clearer.

The hotel is located 3.5 km outside Akureyri. We stayed for one night. Access is via a code that is sent to you. The rooms are very large, modern, and have a beautiful view. The bathroom/shower is spacious with a rainbow shower. You can park your car directly in front of the room. The price/performance ratio is good; we enjoyed our stay. Akuryri, a charming little town with a lovely promenade, many souvenir shops, and restaurants, is 10 minutes away.

Great hotel. Easy self check-in, large, comfortable room, coffee machine and refrigerator, two hot tubs outside, and all for a fair price.

A wonderful hotel with rooms beautifully designed and super comfortable... We loved everything about Halond Hotel. The room was elegant, spacious and it had everything we needed: a sofa, a table, a desk, big bathroom and fabulous mattresses. There was also a parking lot, laundry area and also a hot tub for the clients 😊. Self check-in was available and the staff replied quickly, giving all the necessary information. Definitely recommended! The only thing we would change: pillows. They were quite thin and we used the sofa decorative cushions as well to get some volume.
