Limerick Pride
About This Event
Limerick Pride is a volunteer-run festival with a long history for a city this size. The group held its first Pride night in 2001, marched in its first parade in 2007 and grew into a full week the following year. It has won GALAS awards, and Limerick and West Clare will host EuroPride in 2028, the first time it comes to Ireland.
The week, in July, is a community program rather than a big-stage one: club nights, drag and comedy, a book club, a crafting night, a community café, talks, a guided history tour and a golf event called Putt in Pride. It ends with the Saturday parade through the city centre and Pridefest, a free family afternoon at the Hunt Museum.
In 2026 the University of Limerick ran Pride Village accommodation for the parade weekend, worth checking if city hotels are tight. Limerick is just over two hours from Dublin by train and about 25 km from Shannon Airport.
The 2026 festival ran July 6 to 11 under the theme Pride in Our Community, with the parade gathering at Pery Square on Saturday, July 11. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked.
