About this place South Factory Club Catania

South Factory Club Catania is a gay club with a specific, and important, role in Sicily. The island is more conservative than mainland Italy, so an established gay venue here matters to the local community.

The facilities are simple: a sauna, steam room, and private areas. Don't expect Milanese luxury. The crowd is mostly local, close-knit, though you'll see Italians from the mainland and the occasional international traveler.

If you're in Catania or passing through Sicily, it's good to know South Factory Club is here.

Clean environment, super professional staff, hot shower water, hot pool water, very hot sauna and Turkish bath, contrary to what I read, a pleasant experience

Terrible experience. When we got to the front desk, we asked if there were anyone inside; the guy said yes, but when we got inside, it was just me, my friend, and a couple of other people. But the worst part was that he didn't warn us that the entire place had no heating and the pool water was cold. We left after 5 minutes, and he apologized, saying it wasn't his job to fix it (though he probably did have to notify people entering about the "breakdown"), and he didn't even bother to refund our money for staying in for 5 minutes. NEVER AGAIN!

I went there on a Thursday around 6pm when it's supposed to have early weekend, after-work people and tourists. I found myself literally *alone*. Guy just lets me pay without telling me. I wasted my money and left after less than 10min. Oh, and did I mention the lockers room is terrible and half of the equipments were off? Easily the worst sauna I've ever been anywhere.

The only positive note was the polite and friendly receptionist. The pool/hot tub was cold and had pieces of plastic in it. The room wasn't heated; there was a huge temperature difference between entering and exiting the hot sauna or Turkish bath. The white towel provided smelled musty. The shower water wasn't hot, and not all of them worked. I'm sorry to have to write all this because it could have a lot of potential as a facility.

Terrible sauna, discreet staff but not the best for a sauna, it's not one of the best. Hot water in the showers, nothing very cold, dirty bathrooms, swimming pool, icy water, what else? The sauna is truly horrible, however, this is my opinion, don't even go there 🥲🥲

We were curious. The sauna was sparsely populated. No young people. Overall disappointing. I prefer my local sauna in Berlin. Another experience gained.
