I would love to rate this place higher, but we visited during a May heat wave (90+ F daily). As an American who has frequently traveled to Europe, I’m used to needing to seek out specific places with functioning AC. Based on the pricing and reviews of this hotel, I assumed I was in good hands. I was wrong. Our AC was set to the lowest possible setting (19C/66F) but our room did not get below 78. Sleeping was unbearable even with all curtains and windows closed. It was noticeably cooler in the hall outside, to the point that we debated sleeping with the door cracked. At one point, we were laying on bathroom tile for some relief. When we excavated concerns to the desk, they stated someone would look. If that happened, it did nothing. The rooms were clean, the location excellent, and they stocked water daily for us. We missed cleaning on two days because we were in our room during siesta hours, which is odd. I would have expected cleaning around 10/11am. Lastly, the check in process was long. It took around 25 mins to get checked in with several calls to other people. I’m unsure why. All in all, do not come here in the summer if you need AC.

We were greeted by Danièle, who was incredibly kind, very smiley, and very professional. I thank her for her promptness. Our room, number 5, was simply magnificent, very spacious, and so beautifully decorated—very romantic. It smelled wonderful, and there was hot chocolate and water in the room. Thank you, Danièle! However, at 1:00 AM, the air conditioning stopped working. It was a central air conditioner. I suppose it's set to turn off at night. As I have asthma, I had an asthma attack. The reception closes at 8:00 PM, so they were unreachable. I opened the window, but unfortunately, it's a busy weekend with lots of people partying, so it was impossible to sleep with the noise. Since the window was open, I had no choice; there was no air conditioning. But when you close the window, you can't hear any noise from outside. It's a shame to have had this mishap. Otherwise, the hotel is very well located, right in the city center next to the cathedral. I give it 5/5 except for the major problem with the air conditioning, which is set so that it doesn't work at night. Sabrina

The room perfectly matched the description, truly clean and tidy. We were greeted by a very kind gentleman, whose name I didn't even ask, and I apologize for that. He offered us an excellent coffee while they finished preparing the room. In the evening, Emily, also very kind and friendly, welcomed us, offering us a lovely aperitif in the small but welcoming outdoor space. We really enjoyed our stay; this place perfectly captures the Tuscan spirit of hospitality. Plus, from our room's window, you can see the Basilica of Santa Croce in front of you... what more could you ask for? We'll definitely be back! Excellent location, truly a positive experience!

Excellent location; I opened the window and could see Santa Croce. Quaint and convenient for getting around. Florence is wonderful, and the people who live here every day have truly learned to tolerate us tourists and treat us truly well. Happy to have stayed here, we will definitely be back.
