Zaha Hadid's work, nestled within a classic yet modern building, offers a supreme aesthetic experience; we were truly fortunate to stay there. Below the pool are beautiful ancient Roman ruins. In the afternoon, we could relax at the hotel, where there was a sauna and steam room. The breakfast service was also very professional, with a dedicated chef preparing the meal. The hot chocolate they offered was the best chocolate drink I've ever had. A truly thoughtful hotel, deserving a five-star rating.

A centrally located hotel with an innovative character and meticulous attention to detail. The design, conceived by Zaha Hadid Architects, is breathtaking in every stylistic detail: modern and elegantly crafted rooms, an eclectic and evocative lobby with bold yet perfectly executed combinations. The staff's service is attentive and punctual, yet informal when appropriate. We also dined at the hotel restaurant, which I've dedicated a separate review to, praising its skill and boldness. ROMEO Rome stages itself like a promise: a design hotel as a cathedral of light, stone and silence. Even the entrance area – this carefully composed overture – has something brazenly seductive about it, as if you’d accidentally slipped into another, more elegant reality. We weren’t there to look. We were literally at the beginning of a check-in: spontaneous in Rome, with the clear plan to check in exactly here – now, in this very moment. But before curiosity could turn into a stay, we were declared “disruptive, gawking tourists” within seconds and rather nastily shown the door; as if one weren’t looking at potential guests, but at an annoying backdrop that has to be cut out of the picture. On a whim I still asked for an espresso. The machine was visible, tangible – but apparently not for people you’re just dismissing with demonstrative coldness. That it wasn’t fully booked doesn’t surprise me. The place felt less like a hotel than like a haunted house: immaculate, empty, cold – a museum that despises its visitors. That’s how you don’t just let customers walk away, but take the very idea of hospitality with them. So it’ll be the Bvlgari again after all – at least there you’re a guest, and you’re not sent home like an unwanted noise.

Chef Ducasse's nine-course New Year's Eve dinner at the Romeo Hotel in Rome was a gastronomic experience of rare elegance, transforming the anticipation of the new year into a true sensory journey. The attention to detail was evident from the moment we were welcomed: the service was impeccable, measured yet warm, with staff always present but never intrusive. Each course was introduced with discretion and expertise, helping to create a harmonious flow throughout the dinner. The tasting menu showcased refined, profoundly balanced cuisine. Each dish told a story of excellent ingredients, sophisticated pairings, and presentations crafted with almost sartorial precision. The textures, contrasts, and nuances of flavor were intelligently crafted without ever being overbearing. The ability to maintain an overall lightness despite the richness of the experience was particularly commendable. You arrive at the end of the dinner satisfied, but not weighed down, with the feeling of having experienced something special. The perfectly balanced wine pairing also complemented the dishes, enhancing their aromatic profiles. Ultimately, the New Year's Eve dinner at the Romeo Hotel was much more than a simple celebratory event: an experience of haute cuisine and great hospitality, where the excellent service and refined dishes made the start of the new year truly memorable. New Year's Eve dinner thanks to my friend Ilaria Carletti. Everything was excellent, with food worthy of the great Michelin-starred chef Ducasse. Undisputed raw materials, balanced flavors with unique and unrepeatable combinations. A location that reflects the elegance and sophistication of its entrepreneur, Romeo. Impeccable service provided by young staff, always attentive to the customer. Great recognition also goes to the young Chef Iacopo, who directed all his staff with skill and elegance, keeping a watchful eye on every dish. I highly recommend this culinary experience. The structure is also noteworthy, deserving more than 5 stars, combining classic elements with modern touches. The hotel is worth a visit for its interiors alone, a work of art in the historic center of the capital. Even a simple gesture—going to pick up my partner and her daughter with an umbrella in the rain—becomes, in such a context, a symbol of thoughtfulness and class. I was also deeply struck by the aesthetic coherence of the place: the wood grain flowing perfectly from one surface to the next, the curved lines reminiscent of a boat's hull—and as a nautical enthusiast, I know how much it means to shape wood in that way. It is a work of mastery, sensitivity, and technique, rare among the world's finest. But the most beautiful thing, dear Avvocato, is that the Romeo Roma exudes humanity.
