Hotel with breathtaking views, nice pool located on a mountainside, very central location. The only difficulty is the steep climb from the hotel to the main road.

I am extremely disappointed with my stay at the Eurostars Monte Tauro. Considering that I paid more than USD 500 per night, I expected a level of comfort and service consistent with that price point. Instead, I was repeatedly awakened at 8:00 a.m. by an unbearable noise coming from what appeared to be maintenance machinery operating within the hotel. I reported this issue to the staff several times, yet they seemed completely indifferent. Even worse, I was repeatedly told that the problem had already been solved when it clearly had not. Being misled by hotel staff is unacceptable under any circumstances. Another completely inconceivable issue for a hotel charging these rates was the bathroom. Every time we took a shower, the bathroom flooded because the shower enclosure was not properly sealed. It is astonishing that a hotel in this price category appears unable to implement such a basic solution to prevent guests from slipping and potentially suffering a serious injury. As an additional matter of basic cleanliness, both the outdoor chairs and sun loungers were covered in pigeon droppings, suggesting that these areas are not cleaned with any reasonable frequency. What is most frustrating is that none of these issues were ever resolved despite my repeated complaints. The only conclusion I can draw is that my concerns were simply ignored. The combination of excessive noise, misleading responses from staff, inadequate maintenance, poor cleanliness standards, and the complete lack of effective action has made this one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have had in years. At this price point, there are far better options in Taormina. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

If you do not care about mold or mildew in your room, this is a good option for you. Upon check-in, I was walked to the first floor which reaked and my room had a huge active leak... The room had barely been cleaned. There were black hairs all over the floor and the walls are all slimey and haven't been washed/updated in decades. There are big black spiders near the elevator and we even had to call the front desk to come squish a spider that we couldn't reach in our room. There is likely a colony of black spiders nesting somewhere as there seemed to be one on every floor. The breakfast & the view are about the only good thing here. The rooms are not worth the price what's so ever. Balconies are filthy and feel like you're going to fall through the old wooden floors. Our toilet had problems flushing, so we had to go to the lobby bathroom for number two in fear we wouldn't be able to flush ours. I could go on for a lot longer, but the last thing I will mention is every time that you want to leave the hotel there is a very steep hill going up to the town so if you have bad knees, like I do definitely do not stay here because going down is just as painful as going up. I enjoyed the pool here and that's really about it.

The rooms are really outfashioned, our shampoo was empty, queen bed was always opening in the middle and VERY annoying to sleep in as a couple. Great view tho and nice service

The Euro Stars - Taormina provides a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea and is close to town but is 50 yrs old and shows it. Our bathroom door wouldn't close & shower leaked water all over the floor, some electrical sockets were loose, and none were updated. Wallpaper is peeling & paint is fading everywhere. Worse, the hotel is built into a cliff with extremely limited access for cars & buses and off-site parking is horribly expensive. Most are forced to park at the top of a hill & walk down a 30-degree incline that's 200 feet to the hotel, as are guests waking into town. There's no way to avoid this horrible access and we found no help with luggage either. On departure, our car could not access the hotel, and we were forced to carry 7 pieces of luggage up the hill with no assistance whatsoever. The single elevator is also inadequate to service the hotel as my wife was forced to use the service elevator to reach the lobby.
