I stayed in a room on the top floor with only a roof window. It was quite noisy when the window was open, and the air conditioning wasn't very effective. On the positive side, the location is excellent—close to the railway station—and it's a good choice for a short, budget-friendly stay.
Spacious and clean room, the only drawbacks being the view of the hotel's interior and the lack of a mini-fridge. The room was very cool; we turned off the air conditioning despite this week's scorching heat. Wi-Fi worked well, breakfast was excellent, and the location was also excellent (just steps from the historic center and the train station, which, unlike the rest of Italy, is in an extremely quiet area). The hotel's designated parking lot (there is none) is 200 meters away.
The room was very spacious and comfortable. I think it would be nice to add some balcony chairs to enjoy the view. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The breakfast was nice and plenty of options. The hotel hallways are extremely cold tho and I think that defeats any CSR plan.
Mold on the ceiling and walls in the first room, plus dust and dirt – I had to change rooms immediately. Reception reacted quickly, but the new room wasn't great either: broken hairdryer, shower not properly clean. I expected more comfort and hygiene from a hotel (not a hostel). Not recommended.
What they gave me wasn't a room, but a cubicle! A room with a 30x60 dormer window. Filthy floors, boogers on the walls, no pictures to decorate it a bit. The sheets were inside out, and the mattress had a hole in the middle, so you'd go there and stay there. The floor outside the room was also dirty. The room faced the utility room, from which a dull noise came all night. To get a shower, I had to channel my inner engineer, because the showerhead, stuck in its mechanism, kept falling, and water splashed onto the tiles. It was impossible to wash my hair. Terrible experience; for the same money, you can find better. Good location. The plugs that are plugged into your ears hurt like hell, even if they're not plugged in.
The rooms are large but very simple. The location is close to the station and about 15 minutes from the cruise terminal. The neighborhood is a bit strange, with many strangers near the station and police always nearby. Not unsafe, but a bit uncomfortable.
The hotel was a disaster, except for the bed (mattress), which was excellent. The parking lot is about a 5-minute walk away. It's okay for a Mini, but larger cars have no chance! The hotel's location is very central, and there are good restaurants nearby.
