The hotel was very beautiful and clean, with a charming historic character combined perfectly with a modern and clean style. You could sometimes hear guests from neighboring rooms, but overall we still had a very positive experience. Most of the reception staff were very kind and helpful, especially the two gentlemen. A huge plus is the shared kitchen available for all guests, which was especially helpful when traveling with a child.

I didn’t stay at the hotel, but during the nearly three months I lived in Luxembourg, we went twice to the restaurant Grunewald. I love the restaurant, the food is absolutely delicious, and the staff are very kind. I work in luxury tourism in Peru, and it was great to see that the service standards in Luxembourg are so high. I’m already back in my country, and I still find myself thinking about one of the dishes I had the last time I was there. I would definitely come back many times, the food is truly excellent. <3

Not exactly central but with parking and close to the train station

So, besides the main building, there's an annex. We had our room in the annex (Building C) – this review is based on that. The main building has a reception area decorated with plants, a pleasant scent, and a clean, modern feel. The annex, on the other hand, greeted us with a strong, unpleasant odor. The smell was constantly present in the stairwell during our three-day stay and sometimes even seeped into the room. Nothing was done about it, even though we mentioned it at reception. There's no elevator in the annex, and the stairwell is very narrow, especially with suitcases. The room also had flickering lights. The room is very small. While it does have a queen-size bed, the distance to the walls is only about 30 cm on one side and about 70 cm on the other. A suitcase just barely fits, but there's no shelf or storage space. It's the smallest room I've ever seen in a 4-star hotel. The desk mentioned in the room description is merely a corner table, about 40 cm in diameter. While the room's furnishings are comparable to a 4-star room, it is extremely small overall. The room looks modern, but it wasn't cleaned very thoroughly. There are limescale deposits on the floor, and dirt remains in the corners. Contrary to the description, there is no telephone in the room, only a QR code for contacting reception. However, only the telephone QR code works; the WhatsApp QR code doesn't. Furthermore, the room is not soundproofed as advertised: you can hear everything when someone walks up and down the stairs – even footsteps or doors slamming. We absolutely cannot recommend this hotel. We have stayed in 3-star hotels that were significantly cheaper, larger, and better. I can't comment on the standard in Luxembourg, but considering the room size, even 2 stars would be too generous. On the positive side, the breakfast was somewhat small but good. Furthermore, they were unable to fix the flickering light. Every time we reported this to reception, we were promised that the problem would be resolved. When we returned, the light would work without flickering for one or two hours, after which the problem would reappear. After the third attempt, we gave up and used the reading lamps by the bed instead. Luckily, we had only booked two nights.

I'm not very used to having a toilet and a bathroom without doors, and all the smells and moisture seep into the room. But perhaps this is a unique local feature that I haven't fully understood. Otherwise, the hotel is excellent.

Nice rooms and good service, but cleanliness could be improved.

Beware of deposit scams and false promises! At check-in, I was pressured (in the presence of witnesses, Mr. Danzer) to pay a cash deposit with the firm promise of receiving it back in cash at check-out. This was a lie. The hotel simply kept the cash and unilaterally deducted it from the room rate, while the credit card reservation was simply canceled. The hotel is now brazenly claiming to the travel agency Destinia that there was "no mistake" and that it was a "misunderstanding." Anyone who wants to plan their cash for travel safely should avoid this hotel. Absolutely unprofessional business practices and zero goodwill despite demonstrably false statements by the staff. One star is still too generous. There's no other misinformation. I urgently want to warn other travelers about the deposit practices at this hotel. At check-in, I was asked to pay a cash deposit that exactly matched the room rate. I was assured that I would receive the deposit back in cash upon check-out the following morning. However, this was false. The next day, the cash refund was refused. Instead, my cash was withheld, and they claimed the amount would be credited back to my credit card. Such a practice—accepting cash and only refunding it digitally days later—is completely unethical and left me in an unpleasant financial situation, as I lacked the cash for the remainder of my trip. Anyone who values ​​transparency and reliability should be wary. Due to this experience and the breach of trust at reception, I will definitely not be staying at this hotel again. The hotel even brazenly claims to the travel agency that there was a 'misunderstanding,' despite a witness (Mr. Danzer) being present when we were assured that the deposit would be returned in cash. They are systematically lying to us.
