Queer Voices International Film Festival
About This Event
Queer Voices is Moldova's only international queer film festival, held in Chișinău since 2019. It is run by the Moldox association, a documentary-film group, with backing over the years from GENDERDOC-M, the Swedish embassy and European culture funds. In a country where Pride marches in Chișinău still need heavy police protection, a few days of queer cinema in a public venue is a real statement.
The format is compact: around a dozen features and documentaries, Q&A sessions with filmmakers, art exhibitions and talks. Alongside the festival the team runs workshops in documentary filmmaking, drag and theatre; in 2025 they ran 7 to 11 July. The 2020 edition went online and was only viewable inside Moldova.

The 8th edition ran 30 April to 3 May 2026. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked, and past editions have moved around the calendar.
