About this place Club NYX

Club NYX is the dominant large nightclub on Reguliersdwarsstraat and Amsterdam's primary gay club venue for mainstream and commercial electronic music. The building occupies a four-floor space that accommodates multiple rooms running simultaneously: a main floor with large-production club sound and lighting, quieter rooms on other floors, a bar level, and a rooftop terrace. The programming covers commercial house, pop, and electronic music with regular themed nights — Thursday is popular with students, Friday and Saturday draw the largest crowds with international DJ bookings. NYX also programmes specific events for Pride week, ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event in October), and King's Day (April 27), when Reguliersdwarsstraat becomes pedestrianised and the entire street becomes a gay party. The venue's scale, its location at the centre of the city's main gay strip, and its role as the de facto club destination for visitors to Amsterdam make it one of the most important gay clubs in the Netherlands despite the competitive context of a city with many options.

RIDICULOUS!!! I travel and frequent many clubs around the world, but I've never seen anything more squalid than this place. They kicked me out because I wouldn't take off my jacket. I want to clarify, a jacket (blaizer), not a vest. According to the club's rules, everyone must remove their jackets and wear a T-shirt. Of course, you also have to pay for the cloakroom. However, I was only told this after I paid the entrance fee, which I wasn't even refunded. The girl who checks in at the door also told us to hurry up and tell her what I had to say because she wanted to go back to her friends for a drink. 😅😅 If you want to have a good night, DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE AND WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! It's time for such embarrassing clubs to close down.

I like the venue, but I have had multiple disappointing experiences at the entrance of Club NYX. The security and face control have consistently come across as arrogant and dismissive, including when trying to re-enter after going outside. For a venue with €16 entry plus €5 lockers, this level of treatment towards guests is unacceptable and unprofessional.
