About this place Eagle Amsterdam

The Eagle has anchored the Warmoesstraat leather strip since 1979 — three floors of men-only cruising just off the Red Light District, and one of the oldest bars of its kind still running in Europe. The ground floor works as a regular bar where you can actually hold a conversation; the action gets progressively less verbal as you head down. Dress code is relaxed by leather-bar standards (jeans are fine), and the door policy is simple: men only, 18 plus. Busiest after midnight on weekends and during the big fetish weekends, when the whole street runs as one circuit with Dirty Dicks at number 86 and the RoB and Black Body shops nearby. Cash-free since 2024; check the site for themed nights.

Warning: be careful with this place. Even though it is not very crowded, there are pickpockets operating inside. Yesterday (Sunday) I was robbed: someone took my chain without me realizing it. Do not enter with valuables, and watch your belongings at all times.

After going in with 2 other guys, having one drink each, we decided to leave after 15’ because there were no people. One of us had been given a cloakroom ticket. We wanted to leave but we were not given our jackets. The staff was not friendly. Even when they were the same people as before. They recognised us. We didn’t leave the main bar. Bad service. Would have come back here but not with this service… very disappointed !
