Nieuwe Meer – Oeverlanden

De Oeverlanden, the wooded shore of the Nieuwe Meer lake, is the most established cruising area in the Netherlands — officially tolerated by the city of Amsterdam since the 1980s, and the only one marked on official municipal signs, rainbow colours included. The 2025-2026 redevelopment of the park deliberately kept the cruising zone and gave it clearer boundaries. The area combines a clothing-optional sunbathing shore with a wooded cruising zone behind it. Entrance via the Anton Schleperspad / Jaagpad, then about 1.5 km on foot along the water past the marina. Active day and night year-round; sunny afternoons are the peak. Safety note (2026): in March-April 2026 police recorded a series of harassment incidents by groups of youths and responded with extra patrols and arrests; no incidents have been reported since May. If anything happens, report it — Amsterdam police runs a dedicated LGBTQ+ unit (Roze in Blauw, tel. 0900-8844). Bring tick protection for the tall grass in summer.
