About this place Lunchroom Downtown

Lunchroom Downtown is a gay restaurant on Reguliersdwarsstraat, a good spot for a casual meal or coffee.

You’ll find quality coffee, pancakes, and sandwiches here. It’s the kind of place you drop into for breakfast, lunch, or just a jolt of caffeine when you’re out exploring.

Amsterdam’s gay dining scene tends to be pretty casual, and this place is no exception. Expect a friendly vibe, where LGBTQ+ travelers feel comfortable, and the kind of unpretentious hospitality you get in a lot of the city’s neighborhood spots. The big outdoor terrace is a major plus, especially when it’s warm out. It’s made for people-watching and soaking up the street life.

This is a no-fuss neighborhood restaurant, the kind both locals and visitors appreciate. It works for solo travelers, groups, or anyone looking for a real Dutch café experience in an LGBTQ+-friendly setting.

We had lunch here during our stay in Amsterdam. We didn't eat typical dishes, but we did have two chicken salads. They were good, and the staff were very friendly. The price was excellent, having used The Fork discount.

"My girlfriend and I wanted to thank our waitress who served us and chatted with us during our stay in Amsterdam. She is a beautiful and precious soul. We are bringing a wonderful memory of her back home to Quebec. Please let her know that we wish her nothing but the absolute best for the future 🤍"

We are very dissatisfied with our visit to St. Paules Café. It was truly worthless and absolutely not worth the effort. It is not worth the money; the dishes are far too expensive. Moreover, the dishes are bad and simply taste awful. The atmosphere is bad. That waiter acted very strangely towards us. He smiled at us in a weird way the whole time, making us feel really uncomfortable and harassed. The worst part was that I went to the toilet once and just saw a rat there. And the cook cooks on old, bad pans. Additionally, I found at least three hairs in my food. I also saw a piece of meat that had been ordered fall on the floor. The cook acted as if no one saw it and then put it back in the pan. So please: do not go to this restaurant.

The food is really low-quality. Way too expensive for what it is. Some of the drinks weren't even in stock. The person who served us was very nice, though.
