Bergen Pride
About This Event
Bergen Pride runs under the name Regnbuedagene i Bergen (the Rainbow Days), and Visit Bergen calls it Norway's second-largest Pride festival. The current version dates from 2012. That year the local LLH branch (now FRI) relaunched a Pride that had faded by the end of the 2000s. According to the city's EuroPride 2020 bid book, 2013 was the year crowds started coming back.
The festival lasts about nine days at the end of May and start of June, with 80 to 90 events around the city, including talks, club nights and a Rainbow Night party at Marinehagen. The free core is the last three days. Pride Park in Nygårdsparken has stalls, bars and a stage. The Saturday parade leaves Bryggen (Festningskaien) at 13:00 and winds past Torget, Strandkaien and Sydnesplassen up to the park. Bryggen and Torget close to traffic for a few hours that day.
Bergen is famously wet, so pack a rain jacket even in June. Rooms near Bryggen go early on parade weekend.
The 2026 festival ran from 29 May to 6 June, with the parade on Saturday 6 June. We found no headcount for 2026. The last parade figure we saw was more than 30,000 participants from 57 organisations in 2023 (Bergens Avis), and Visit Bergen puts the whole festival at around 50,000. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked.
