Radisson Blu Hotel, Tromso

In the off-season in May, the hotel was almost empty. We asked for a room upgrade, and the lady at reception was very welcoming and friendly. She kindly gave us a room with a beautiful mountain and fjord view — thank you again! The breakfast room was also great and offered plenty of choice, even though some staff were on strike at the time. We especially enjoyed the saunas, which are separated by gender and have an amazing view from the 10th floor. The gym also had a fantastic view. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Northern Light Above the Harbor The Radisson Blu Hotel in Tromsø does not feel like an ordinary hotel — more like a quiet viewpoint suspended between sky, harbor, and history. From the very first moment you step inside, you sense that uniquely Norwegian blend of elegance, calmness, and a hospitality that feels surprisingly warm in the cold North. “Gjesten skal føle seg hjemme” (“The guest should feel at home”) — this Norwegian saying does not seem to be just a slogan here, but something that is truly lived every day. A heartfelt THANK YOU to the friendly staff and to all the invisible helping hands who work daily to create cleanliness, comfort, and well-being. In some other places, people could certainly take a small lesson from this — lightly ironic, of course, and said with northern German politeness. The room was stylish, peaceful, and blessed with a view that felt almost outrageously beautiful. Should one really sleep here, or simply spend the entire night gazing over Tromsø and the harbor? The sauna on the 10th floor and the wellness area crown the entire stay perfectly. Relaxing above the rooftops of this old polar explorer city while the crisp northern air drifts across the fjord feels almost poetic. The breakfast also deserves to be remembered: fresh fruit, fragrant bread, fish, egg specialties, and everything one could wish for to begin an Arctic morning properly. “Gode venner gjør reisen kortere” (“Good friends make the journey shorter”) — and that is exactly what this stay felt like. Conclusion: A place full of style, warmth, and Nordic tranquility. We highly recommend the Radisson Blu Hotel Tromsø and would be delighted to return — if we are welcome to do so. P.S. WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER! They double-charged us for our room and when we emailed the customer service asking for a refund they didn’t even reply. We also tried to reach the management and they also didn’t even bother to reply. IT’S BEEN TWO MONTHS AND I’M STILL WAITING FOR MORE THAN 400 EUROS. That’s how they treat their customers, simply unacceptable. Ladri!!

The property accidentally charged us twice for the full amount of our reservation. After more than a month of reminders, we still haven't received a refund or a response from the property. This is unacceptable.

I stayed at Radisson Blu Hotel Tromsø. The location is good—close to the city center and within a reasonable walking distance to Arctic Cathedral. It’s also very close to the airport, around a 10-minute drive, which is convenient. The breakfast was really good and tasty—I actually enjoyed it a lot. The lobby is also a strong point: it’s big, has plenty of comfortable seating, and is always well heated, which is important in Tromsø since you really feel the cold outside. One strange thing is the luggage storage—it’s far from reception, on another floor in what seemed like a conference room, which is not very practical. Now, the issues. We booked a superior room because we were three people, but when we arrived, there was only one queen-size bed and no extra bed for the third person. When we called reception, they seemed confused about why we were asking for it… which honestly makes no sense. Where exactly were three people supposed to sleep? That attitude was frustrating and not professional. Also, our travel partners booked a standard twin room, and it was extremely small—like a box. You can barely move, the closet is under the bed, and you can practically touch both walls at the same time. Definitely not what you expect, especially considering the price. Speaking of price, the hotel is expensive—but to be fair, Tromsø in general is expensive. Cleanliness was also an issue. When we arrived, there were crumbs or cookies on the floor, and clearly no one had cleaned it properly beforehand. The staff overall were not very cooperative, which really affects the experience. Overall, while the location and breakfast were good, the service, room issues, and cleanliness made the stay disappointing. With the amount of money I paid, I expected better which is literally the bare minimum.

Despite being the only staff member managing the reception during the day, she remained calm, efficient, and provided exceptional customer service to both me and my partner. Sarah went above and beyond to ensure everything was handled smoothly and made us feel genuinely welcomed. We stayed at the Radisson Blu in Tromsø in March 2026, and the experience was impeccable in every way. The real added value of this hotel is the staff. Special thanks go to Christian at the front desk: his professionalism and kindness were extraordinary. Not only did he provide us with excellent advice on what to see and where to eat in the city, but he was extremely helpful in granting us a late checkout, allowing us to enjoy our trip until the last minute without stress. We stayed in a Standard City View on the seventh floor. Although the room was small, we found it very comfortable and functional. The bathroom is windowless, but equipped with a comfortable bathtub. The body products (shampoo and soap) are fantastic and of excellent quality. Breakfast: Simply excellent. A generous international buffet with a wide selection, ideal for recharging your batteries before a day in the cold. We really appreciated the free access to the gym and sauna, a real treat after hiking. A special mention goes to the reception area at the entrance: having hot drinks, fresh fruit, and cookies always available is a detail that makes all the difference for a regenerating break between activities. The hotel's location in the city center allowed us to get around on foot, but it's also convenient for taking buses and other public transportation. In summary: We highly recommend this hotel for its strategic location and excellent customer service. We'll definitely be back!

I felt right at home, staying at the Radisson Blu in Tromsø. Comfort was abundant and the views from the rooms and windows were beautiful. The breakfast was excellent.
