Boa Vista Hotel & Spa

I don’t think this should be classed as a four star, maybe three at best. However, it’s lovely for a short stay. Beautiful views, satisfactory pool and breakfast, and friendly staff. Our room was also a decent size and clean. The hotel is also in a good location.

We have rarely experienced such excellent service from hotel staff. 5 stars for the staff! Truly fantastic! 👍👍👍 Many thanks! 😁 The hotel itself needs a few repairs. It's definitely seen better days. Free parking for hotel guests is great! The breakfast was, well, not that exciting, and the breakfast waiter was unfortunately very disorganized. The rooms were okay, and the prices were reasonable.

Good evening, it's impossible to shower; the water is freezing. So I went to reception. They told me there was indeed a problem in the wing of the hotel where our room is located. They suggested I wait until tomorrow morning because the qualified technician starts work at 9:00 AM. I explained that this wasn't possible because we had to leave at 9:00 AM (and are we even allowed to shower whenever we want, especially before going to bed?). I asked to change rooms, but they told me the hotel was full. So what? Strangely enough, they asked me to go to an empty room (what a coincidence!) to check the shower myself to see if it was hot or cold. Which I did. Result: freezing water there too! I explained that I wouldn't pay if I didn't have hot water and that this wasn't normal. I was asked to wait at reception this time, and the receptionist returned, claiming there was no hot water in the entire hotel (no other guests were there to complain, which I pointed out to her). I told her to find another solution, and she said she could find a kettle and put some water in a basin for me... What a joke! Apparently, there were no other options! So they let me leave without any concern for the situation. She informed me that she would report the matter to her supervisor the next morning. In any case, we couldn't even shower in a hotel room—unheard of! We requested a full refund for the inconvenience (and that's an understatement for a day spent in southern Portugal where it was 28 degrees Celsius and we went to the beach).

Clean and quiet hotel with very welcoming staff. We really appreciated the free parking in April, and the view from the balcony of our twin room was amazing. We didn’t get the chance to try the restaurant, spa (the sauna and hammam are free), or the swimming pool, but they looked like great facilities. Breakfast was very good, with a nice English breakfast option as well as a variety of pastries. The only downsides were that the hotel feels quite dated, and the walk up from the town is very steep, which might be challenging for some guests.

A wonderful holiday, perfect location, friendly staff. The room was a bit vintage. Great, varied breakfast. Be aware – it's located on a hill. My room was on the 4th floor with a sea view. Thank you for the lovely stay. The room was very clean daily ❣️

Good location with a nice view over the sea and close to Albufeira old town. The staff were friendly and the hotel was generally clean. However, the rooms and facilities feel a bit outdated and could benefit from renovation. Overall, a decent stay for the price but not a true 4-star experience

It's actually a nice, quiet hotel in a prime location near the old town. Unfortunately, it's been neglected. The walls in the stairwell are dirty, and the furniture is damaged. If you book a room there in February 2026 with half-board, it's best to skip the evening meal, as the chef seems to lack any visual or culinary inspiration; it's not even below average. Two out of seven days we had pasta Bolognese, some of it lukewarm, with hardly any salad or vegetables. This was supposed to be an à la carte meal worth €36. Very disappointing.

Our experience was terrible, being a 4-star hotel it was a disappointment...we went for Valentine's Day weekend and we hated it! Firstly, the room was already a bit old, then the toilet drain pipe was broken and all the water leaked onto the floor, the bathtub door was also broken and all the water leaked out...we were left with a flooded bathroom, in addition to there being no hot water! Regarding the noise... horrible! From 7:30 am onwards it was impossible to sleep, the cleaning staff made a lot of noise in the corridors, laughing, shouting, calling each other, all this super loud without respect for anyone! We were not left with towels or robes for the spa, at the time we booked there was no one there and nothing was turned on, we ended up not going... There wasn't a single good thing, it was the worst €105 I've ever spent.
