Lua Nua - Gay Boutique Hotel
Visitors frequently praise the attentive and accommodating hosts, Christophe and Franck, and the delicious homemade breakfasts made with fresh ingredients. I really enjoyed my stay at Lua Nua. The pool, dining and seating areas were well-suited for our group spending time together, and Franke and Christophe were very attentive, accommodating hosts. The room was comfortable and a great size, while the remote location was nice for getting away from busier areas. Nearby beaches, towns and train station were accessible by car. Would love to stay again!
This is my second visit to Lua Nua and it was as relaxing and enjoyable as the first! Christophe & Franck have created an oasis in southern Portugal that caters to men. Lazy mornings were spent enjoying a leisurely gourmet breakfast created each day for the guests using fresh ingredients from their garden. A short drive to one of the many naturist beaches nearby occupied the afternoon, before returning to Lua Nua for a late afternoon dip in the pool, a glass of wine and socializing with the other guests. On each of my visits I have found the other guests to be a diverse group, from younger couples to older couples or singles. But the tranquility of Lua Nua is what brought us together, to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and each other's company. I can see that Lua Nua may not be for everybody. You absolutely need a car (one that is capable of navigating dirt roads) and you have to keep in mind that the beaches and restaurants are 20-30 minutes drive. If you are fine with that, then you will enjoy Lua Nua and all that it has to offer. Highly recommend. 5 Stars.
Too remote, dangerous winding mountain roads, no real services nearby due to the remoteness. No notice from owners/hosts that a capable vehicle is required due to steep gravel access road. Advertised prices does not disclose 5% Paypal surcharge which is prohibited per "EU Payment Service Processing Directive 2" (PSPD2). Unreasonable cancellation/deposit/pre-payment policy. Will dispute with Paypal/American Express. This is not a hotel. It is a guesthouse run off a septic tank and well water. We cancelled half an hour after arrival.
My partner and I adored our four nights at Lua Nua and wished that we’d stayed longer. Christophe and Franck are the ideal hosts - kind, funny, helpful and dispensing tips that you’d never find online about the best beaches and times of day to visit. Each morning began with a world-class, homemade breakfast. Christophe then helped us map out our day to one of the many gorgeous gay naturist beaches in the area. While it was always a short drive to the beach or restaurants, we absolutely loved existing off the grid “in the middle of nowhere.” While we were in a remote area - WiFi and water pressure were strong. We stayed in the large studio suite and slept like kings in the massive loft. A true highlight is the picturesque pool - we went for a dip and mingled with other fun guests each day after the beach. The hardest part was leaving. ❤️ 10/10 very highly recommend.
During my trip to Portugal, I stopped for a few days at Lua Nua. It was like stepping into another dimension. Peace and tranquility surrounded by nature, and excellent service from the owners, always available to offer advice and meet any needs. Thank you!
Loved it in this paradise with amazing hosts. Beautiful room and garden. Breakfast was superb and freshly prepared. Felt so relaxed after two nights and would definitely go back
