About this place Hotel SIR Orhideea

Hotel SIR Orhideea is a budget-friendly, 2-star accommodation option located in Sector 6 of Bucharest, offering LGBTQ+ travelers a welcoming base for exploring Romania's vibrant capital. As an affordable gay hotel, it caters to visitors looking for comfortable, no-frills lodging without breaking the bank. The property is situated in a peaceful residential area, providing a quieter alternative to staying in the city center while remaining well-connected to Bucharest's main attractions and amenities. The location is particularly convenient for travelers prioritizing ease of access. The hotel sits next to the Basarab Bridge and benefits from proximity to two metro stations—Grozavesti and Politehnica—making it simple to reach other neighborhoods and explore the city's gay scene, cultural sites, and entertainment venues. For those arriving by train, the hotel's closeness to Basarab Train Station is a major plus, eliminating the need for lengthy transfers. The area also provides easy access to major shopping centers including Carrefour and Bricostore, useful if you need supplies or want to explore local retail options. Bucharest has a developing LGBTQ+ community with gay bars, clubs, and social spaces scattered throughout the city, and staying at an explicitly gay-friendly hotel ensures a comfortable, accepting atmosphere. While this property offers a straightforward, economical experience rather than luxury amenities, it's an ideal choice for budget-conscious travelers who value location, accessibility, and a welcoming environment. Whether you're visiting for a weekend getaway, cultural exploration, or to connect with local queer communities, Hotel SIR Orhideea provides a practical base from which to experience the city.

It's a pitty that it does not serve breakfast.

Just a normal hotel room but the price I got was great and hence higher overall rating than just based on the facilities. They have a 24-hour reception which makes check-in/check-out possible even in the middle of the night. Communication with them in advance was easy. Check-in was quick and simple. Elevator is available. Wifi was working fine. Bed was fine. Everything was clean. No breakfast option available. Sockets near the bed were wobbly. All the furnishings are old. Location is not ideal for sightseeing as it is a very long walk to the sightseeing places but there is a metro station nearby. Overall satisfied because of the great price-value ratio.
