Excellent hotel! Very comfortable rooms with street views. Very attentive reception staff and a great location. Bars and restaurants outside the hotel and the hotel restaurant itself are very good, serving an excellent fondue prepared in the most traditional Swiss style.

A terrible hotel with questionable cleanliness to boot. Its only advantage is its location in Bern's old town.

Location - very good as it's right in centre of old town with nice pavement bars and restaurants as soon as you step out the front door. Service - reception staff on the Friday we arrived was great, very friendly and helpful. Room - ok, small but clean. Note no AC and bathroom is built into the room in a 'pod" style. They also offer a "pillow menu" with 8 different types of pillows which was a nice touch. Biggest issue was breakfast which is available from 06.30 to 10.00. We arrived for breakfast at 08.00 on Friday, which is early for me, to what can only be described as a scene of devastation. Almost every table was filled with dirty dishes, cups etc from previous diners. It looked like your house after your kids have had a party when you've been away for the weekend. There was no bread, little juice, no clean cups. Asked for a boiled egg, was told it would take 10 minutes but it never came. Only relief was the fun of watching the faces of other diners as they came into the room for breakfast and saw the chaos before them. Fortunately this was not repeated the following morning, but maybe because we arrived at 07.00. Am genuinely confused why other people rate the breakfast as good. It's a basic continental breakfast with tinned fruit, ham, cheese, bread and yoghurt. If I was back in Bern I might stay again as the location is excellent, but I wouldn't like to stay in summer or have a rate including breakfast.
