JAIL Bar - Bern

My favorite bar for years. Oli has become a good friend, along with Luca and Cluclu! I can wholeheartedly recommend the Jail Bar anytime. It's become like family to me, a country bumpkin 🥰🥰🥰

Terrible, run-down bar that needs a new owner. I'll be back, but only when the place is run by someone responsible and kind to their customers.

I saw how the owner treated homeless people. He called them filth and kicked them. It's a disgrace to have such restaurant owners in Bern!

Very aggressive owner and bartender; we were served condescendingly. Smoking was allowed in the kitchen despite the designated smoking room – not exactly hygienic when selling snacks. A dog roaming freely is also not exactly welcome in a bar; this would be a case for the food safety authority. I wonder what kind of dump this is. Never again, thank you.

The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is warm and inviting – I would visit again, so it's definitely worth a recommendation.

A very cozy bar with a great atmosphere. The staff is always courteous, friendly, and attentive. You receive a warm welcome and excellent advice on choosing a drink. I immediately felt comfortable here – even as a woman, you can go alone and feel completely safe. Conversations with the team and other guests are enriching; you can feel their generosity and warmth. Definitely a place I would happily recommend! 🌟

Very unfriendly staff

Unfortunately, a lovely bar crawl ended badly here. While we were kindly offered shots, when we took out our water bottle despite having ordered several, we were met with very rudeness. Even when my girlfriend went outside for some fresh air after closing time, glass in hand, we were met with considerable aggression. That was our first and last time there!

The bartender is a real jerk. We went into the basement bar, but since it was completely empty, we decided to leave. I quickly went to the restroom, and the bartender caught up with me in the street and rudely demanded 2 francs. This place is absolutely to be avoided!!!! Disgusting behavior!!!! 🤮🤮🤮

Really nice and pretty bar. Not busy, great to go out with your friends 😍
