The top-floor room had a lake view from the shared terrace; it was clean and had everything you needed. The breakfast was varied, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The lake is just a few minutes' walk away, as are several bus stops with easy access to most places. The parking was convenient; in our case, it was one of the three outdoor spaces in the courtyard. There is no air conditioning, and the rooms are not soundproofed.
I stayed at Geneva Hostel in Switzerland and would give it 3 stars overall. The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout the stay, which made a good first impression. The hostel was also easy to navigate. The atmosphere both outside and inside the lobby was really relaxing and pleasant, making it a nice place to sit and unwind. Breakfast was another highlight — there was an open buffet with plenty of options available, and everything felt fresh and enjoyable. The rooms were okay overall, although it was slightly inconvenient having to put the bed sheets on yourself. The main downside was the communal bathrooms, which could sometimes feel dirty and grimy. Overall, it’s a decent hostel with a nice atmosphere and friendly service, but cleanliness in the shared bathrooms could definitely be improved. Thank you!
very good hostel, near the city centre so you have access to all the nice shops, really good toilets and showers, very good breakfast, very nice staff and very good rooms
Really good for the price. The 6 bed male dorm, has an attached bathroom. The only concern was the floors - they were very squeaky. Breakfast was included which made it an even better deal. They also provide a free local transportation pass when you book through Hostelworld.com.
Two separate nights' stay in a mixed-gender shared room with a total of three double bunk beds per room. The lockers assigned to the beds are located outside, which I consider a drawback since you have to go in and out of the room to get anything. Inside the room, I missed having a chair or small table next to each bunk to keep personal items within easy reach. Depending on the floor you're on, there's a women's and a men's bathroom, with either three toilets or just one, for a total of 36 people. One night, the outside temperature didn't drop below 22°C, making it very hot in the rooms. There's no ventilation system or portable fan. The same is true in the common areas (there are only a few tables and sofas right next to reception); it was more comfortable sitting outside on a park bench than inside the hostel. The included buffet breakfast could be of better quality; in my opinion, the coffee machine could be improved. After spending 12 days traveling through Switzerland, having visited other hostels of this type in Bern and Grindelwald, this is undoubtedly the worst by far.
