What reviewers say

Many visitors praise the hotel's location, with some also highlighting the good food and friendly restaurant staff. However, a common complaint is the impersonal and often frustrating self-check-in process, with some guests also noting that rooms are basic for the price and lack amenities like a refrigerator.

Very loud, mold in the bathroom, staff very incompetent and unfriendly, breakfast vegetables with mold, noise from the outdoor seating area until midnight. Be smart and avoid this place.

Great hotel for an overnight stay on the way to Italy or the Netherlands. Beautiful location by the lake for a walk or a swim in good weather. Plenty of restaurants and some shops in the area. The hotel restaurant is good. Parking + charging station.

Unfortunately, my stay at the Hotel Kreuz Sachseln was very disappointing. I found black mold and hair in the bathroom/shower – a condition I do not expect in a hotel room. Cleanliness should be a basic requirement. It's impossible to complain about this, as it's an unsolvable problem. The option of a different room was out of the question for me after my travel companions encountered the same issue in a separate room on another floor. What was particularly frustrating was that I actually wanted to address this internally before posting a public review. That would have been my preferred approach if there had been a functioning and accessible reception.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t fully experience our stay at this hotel. The restaurant wasn’t open, there was no staff on site, and there are only two free parking spots — the rest are paid. The rooms themselves are clean and spacious.

Booked this hotel randomly in my Google search and was pleasantly surprised. Spotless, comfortable room with Self-Check in options available. There won't be anyone in the reception to greet you apart from the cleaning staffs. There is a system in the reception area where you can self check-in and register the card. Excellent walkable neighbourhood with cafes, and easy transport. Railway station is around 10 minutes walk (Sachseln). There are few restaurants, please note most of them are closed on Sundays (That's common in Switzerland). Room was so spacious, according to European Standards for this category. Highly recommended.
