I had booked this hotel through Booking.com and received written confirmation. 48 hours before my departure, the hotel cancelled my reservation, informing me that they were undergoing renovations.

The staff's rude attitude towards a person checking in for the first time, acting as if they had the authority to decide whether or not to let them stay at the hotel, was completely wrong. As a doctor working in this area, I would not recommend this place for my patients to stay at…

While this is technically a 4-star hotel, several non-negotiable issues made it feel otherwise. They advertise daily complimentary water, yet we never received a refill only once at request. Communication was a struggle as the reception staff spoke very little English. We also spent two days without Wi-Fi; despite being told it was a general area outage, the connection worked perfectly in the hotel cafeteria and the coffee shop across the street. The room and bathroom furniture were chipped and showing mold—definitely not 4-star quality—and the shower had mismatched tiling. Even their 'green policy' was confusing; we hung our towels up to reuse them, but they were replaced anyway. Finally, be warned about the noise: the hotel is on a very crowded street, and the racket from traffic and people outside lasts well into the night. On the plus side, the breakfast is decent, and the staff is well-meaning, even if the language barrier in Ankara is a hurdle.
