<<In a word, how would you describe this stay?>> ◆Excellent location as a base for sightseeing in Istanbul [6th floor (6F) </6-story building> '6' double bed room with balcony (northeast-facing window) ◯× [Overall rating: '① <←⑤←⑦> (/10)'] for 8 consecutive nights]. <<Especially good>> ◆Excellent location as a base for sightseeing in Istanbul. ◎ ◆I was allowed to check in earlier than the early check-in start time [14:00~] [around 11:25]. ◎◎◎ ◆Marmara Sea can be seen from the balcony (northwest end) and shower space ventilation window. ◎◎ ◆Mini refrigerator [mini frige] has a 'freezer function'. ◎ ◆Air conditioning (cooling) works well [Minimum settable temperature: 18℃]. ◎ ◆The water pressure of the high-temperature shower in the bathroom is high. ◎ ◆The bathroom (shower space & toilet space) dries quickly. ◎ ◆A 'new' apartment room (total: 1 room/floor × 6 rooms) that just opened in August 2023, co-managed by a male owner who previously worked in a hotel. ◎ <<especially pity>> ◆The male owner, a former hotel employee, is extremely dishonest. [To make things add up, he added 'several lies' to his response to my review (on Booking.com) <For one thing, the fire alarm never went off, and he doesn't even know my phone number>] ××××××××××××××××××××. ◆<3rd night (8th night) pm [20240518 (Sat) around 21:55]> A male (claiming to be a technical staff member) who could barely speak English knocked twice, then used a 'master key' to unlock the door without permission and tried to enter my room. [If I hadn't been there, he would have definitely entered without permission, and I couldn't stay there with peace of mind. <Later, I confirmed with the male owner that it was an emergency inspection (by an external company) due to a malfunction in the shared water heater.>] ×××××××××××××××××××× ◆The 'hotel name (location)' on Booking.com is incorrectly listed as 'BlueRoyal Grand Bazaar (Kumkapı Hanı Sokağı, Fatih, Istanbul)'. It should be immediately corrected to match the 'Blue Royal Hotel (Saraç İshak, Kumkapı Hanı Sokağı NO:16, Fatih/İstanbul, Türkiye)' listed on Google Maps [local address]. [Even with a prior search using the current listed name (location), it was not possible to find it, and (at check-in) we had no choice but to ask a local person near the hotel to confirm by phone, which was extremely inconvenient]. ××××× ◆The Free WiFi signal on the double bed pillow is 'extremely' unstable and frequently weakens, which is inconvenient. <cf. [Excerpt] History of 'Signal Blockage' for Free WiFi (entire room) in my room [Only known information]: 5/17 (Fri) '0939⇒0941' for about 2 minutes & '0944⇒0948' for about 4 minutes & '1251⇒1302' for about 9 minutes, 5/18 (Sat) '1644⇒1648' for about 4 minutes, 5/19 (Sun) '1453⇒1454' for about 1 minute, 5/0 (Mon) '0213⇒0215' for about 2 minutes, 5/21 (Tue) '1602⇒1604' for about 2 minutes> [Router 'Blueroyal-up' etc. urgently need to be modified!!!!!]. △××××× ◆<3rd night (8 days) AM [20240519 (Sun) around 5:15 AM]>One of the bedroom ceiling lights (near the balcony door) started flickering and continued until check-out on the 8th night (8 days) AM [Urgent replacement needed!!!]. △××× ◆No air conditioning controller [remote control] in the room [Staff must be notified when using air conditioning]. △× ◆No 'Don't disturb' tag. ××××× ◆No lift [elevator]. △ ◆The sound of seagulls and pigeons flying onto the roof of the building directly above my room echoes in the room at all times. △ ◆My room balcony is soiled with 'feces' from flying seagulls and pigeons. △ ◆◆Upon entering the room immediately after check-in: ◆Toilet space: Extensive and numerous areas of dirt residue on the underside of the toilet seat, extremely unsanitary. ×××××××××× ◆The surface of the "water flow button (panel)" installed on the wall behind the toilet (the "underside" that becomes visible when pressed) has dirt residue [including blue mold], extremely unsanitary. ×××××××××× ◆The entire wall surface of the toilet space (including the water flow button (panel)) has extensive and numerous areas of dirt residue [including toothpaste], making it unsanitary. ××××× ◆The toilet space floor has a large amount of hair, dust, and dirt residue [garbage], making it unsanitary. ××××× ◆The white-colored storage space door surface under the bathroom sink has extensive and numerous areas of dirt residue, making it unsanitary. ××××× ◆Three long hairs (over 30cm) were found attached to the double bed sheets, making it unsanitary. ××××× ◆A large amount of hair, dust, and debris were found on the bedroom floor, making it unsanitary. ××××× ◆Dirt was found on the surface of the mini refrigerator in a wide area and in multiple places, making it unsanitary. ××××× > *Approximately -5,822 yen (-€34.20) <←Approximately -6,129 yen (-€36.00)> / 8 nights <Room only> 【<-46,575 yen (-€273.60) <←Approximately -49,027 yen (-€288.00)> / 8 nights <Room only> <20210513 (Mon) 06:03 (Japan time) [JCB web payment]>】 Blue Royal Hotel <←BlueRoyal Grand Ba

The location is perfect, centrally located, and just 10 minutes away from many attractions. However, the area is dangerous, with many locals working nearby, often involved in counterfeit bag production. The room has minimal equipment, is not well maintained, and not cleaned properly. Not all the photos are real. The staff is friendly, and the price is good. Parking is a problem—there is no free parking nearby. It’s recommended to leave your car in paid parking lots (“Otoparks”), but be careful, as some places try to scam you. I don’t recommend the parking lot next to the accommodation—they charge the full daily rate even for just a few hours, and the price can vary depending on the owner’s mood, usually between 15–20 euros. A bit further away, you can find parking for 10 euros, and they often offer discounts for multiple days.

Unfortunately, the towels provided were dirty. After requesting more, they were provided, but some were equally dirty. The shower was unstable and kept falling apart. The room was supposed to be 25 square meters, but it didn't look that way. However, it matched the photos on the website exactly. We arrived at midnight (I had previously asked if the reception was 24/7 and was told yes), so we arrived and there was no one there. I had to look for Wi-Fi to contact the staff and get them to open the door, only to discover that the person from the hotel next door had welcomed us. Wi-Fi was poor. Excellent location, and the manager was very kind and helpful. Good value for money.
