I booked a stay at Vertus Edit Canary Wharf in London, UK, while travelling to attend a conference. Unfortunately, the room was so uncomfortable that I checked out after just one night and moved to another hotel. The biggest issue was the temperature in the room. It was extremely hot because of the warm weather, and my room did not have air conditioning. Although a fan was provided, it made very little difference. I asked reception if I could borrow a second fan, but I was told that none were available. Since this was a business trip, I needed to do preparatory work on my computer. Working in such a hot room was extremely uncomfortable and made it difficult for me to concentrate and be productive. The hotel suggested that I use the shared lounge because it was air conditioned. While this provided relief from the heat, I did not find it to be a suitable alternative to having a comfortable private room, particularly when I needed to work and focus. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Vertus Edit to anyone visiting London for business or to anyone travelling during warmer months who needs a comfortable environment for working or sleeping. I would suggest choosing another reasonably priced hotel that offers air-conditioned rooms. The lack of air conditioning in my room and the uncomfortable temperature ultimately left me with no choice but to check out after the first night. I moved to another reasonably priced hotel with air conditioning and had a much more comfortable and productive remainder of my stay.
Definitely recommend exceptionally clean accommodating. Friendly, polite, helpful staff. Though other reviews mentioned no air conditioning I had a modern fan already on in my room as I entered. Such a lovely welcome.
WARNING this place does not have air conditioning.
Dangerous Safety Hazard and Shocking Staff Attitude – Avoid at All Costs! Worst hotel experience ever. I requested room cleaning in the morning, but when I returned in the afternoon, the room was untouched except for a broken glass bottle left scattered on the counter and water on the floor. We notified reception, but they ignored us for 20 minutes. During this time, I cut my hand on the glass and began bleeding. When I went downstairs to show the staff my bleeding hand, they showed zero empathy. No apology, no first aid offered. Instead, they rudely told me "not to raise my voice" when I wasn't even being aggressive. Eventually, a receptionist came up to take photos, and it took another 10 minutes for someone to finally clean up the broken glass and water. Throughout this entire ordeal, the staff acted completely indifferent, as if this severe safety hazard and total lack of service were normal. Not once did anyone apologize. This place has zero regard for guest safety, basic hygiene, or professional customer service. Save your money and stay somewhere else where you will actually be treated with respect and care. I tried to post the picture with bleeding fingers but google didn’t accept it…
