Charlie's, a gay bar on Harter Street in Manchester's Princess area, is all about karaoke. The stage is mirrored, framed by velvet curtains, and people are up there singing most nights. It's caught on especially with Manchester's Asian student community, so you'll find a real mix of locals and visitors. Weekends are when it really pops off. Saturdays mean "Heart of Soul" night and a packed dance floor. And once a month, the Whim Wham Club brings in cabaret acts. So you can grab the mic, or just watch. This isn't really a dance club. It's more of a social spot, with a performance bent. If you want some interactive fun and to hang out with Manchester's LGBTQ+ crowd, this is a good place to start.
