About this place The Rembrandt Hotel

The Rembrandt is Manchester's original gay hotel — an independently owned three-star property on Sackville Street that has served the Gay Village's visitors and community for decades. It is not a luxury property, and it does not pretend to be: comfortable, well-run rooms, a ground-floor bar and restaurant that is part of the Canal Street social infrastructure in its own right, and a location that puts you directly in the village. The Rembrandt Bar is a Canal Street institution — a quieter, more civilised alternative to the louder venues a street away. The hotel is the accommodation choice for visitors who want to be in the community rather than observing it from a Marriott on Deansgate. Manchester Pride weekend makes this the most sought-after address in the city; book many months in advance.

It's a very basic room. No usb charging points. So take your 3 pin plug adapter. I went to the bar for a pint. Didn't realise it was so complicated and big deal to go to bar. Got charged for bar staff to pour beer and for me to walk away with it. Just wrong!!!!!

We enjoyed our stay this week at The Rembrandt. With it's great location, and excellent customer service, it's our favorite London hotel. We stayed in an executive king room on the 3rd floor. The room is a decent size for London standards and has everything we need. The buffet breakfast is always delicious with a good selection of hot and cold items. The bar area is comfortable for having a drink and relaxing and we enjoyed having a light supper in the restaurant. We highly recommend this hotel if South Kensington or Knightsbridge is where you want to be. Harrods is just a short walk away, as well as Royal Albert Hall, the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum.

Staff and food very good. Value for money, very bad as room was not 4 star and not executive, badly in need of refurbishment. Faded, badly maintained and laid out bathroom. Bedroom worn carpet, scratched furniture and very little room to move.
