Hôtel Tropiq

Actual worst place I’ve ever stayed at. There were roaches and huge ant infestation in the room. They put us in a new room and the room was also filled with bugs and the blanket cabinet smelled like rotten eggs. Stains everywhere on the curtains. LOOKED NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES AND TREVOR THE “manager” WILL NOT ISSUE US A REFUND. We have no choice but to leave a horrible review on this place the conditions weren’t even livable at all. Couldn’t last one night here. Incredibly unhelpful staff, will be taking this to social media as well. All we want is a refund.

I would like to give this place no Star's they won't refund you when you book with booking.com and refused to let me check in at office told me to call a number when my phone went flat to confirm my booking and invoice and basically pushed me out the door ..very rude and stand off like ..I was ripped off there a bunch of scamers

Out of all the places I’ve stayed during my time in Australia, this had the friendliest staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. I truly loved my stay and would happily return again given the chance.

Stayed four nights for work. First night druggys fighting at 3am room next door. Sounded like a homicide. Second night, different druggys woke complex up with random screaming. Third day, driving into their driveway to park, druggy/arrogant guest refused to move off the driveway to the walk-way and let my cars through. Fourth night, woken at 4am to loud music from a room, this went on for 30mins..sleep broken got my stuff and left. Unfortunate because the room was clean, front desk staff friendly. There's alot of hotels around and that I can choose from and unfortunately this one will never be picked again. Hotel Tropiq is also the same price as any other hotel around.

Conveniently located just 10 minutes from the airport. The hotel room was basic but in line with what we paid for.

Check-in was quick and easy. The receptionist was very friendly. The room was clean, no complaints there. The bathroom, however, was old and a bit dirty. There is Wi-Fi, but it didn't work in our room. The pool was nice, with a small children's playground and a barbecue area. The hotel is 15 minutes from Cairns Central shopping center and also 15 minutes from the seafront. Perfect for a night or two!

Please avoid this place at all costs. The cleanliness and hygiene standards were unacceptable. The room felt unclean, common areas were poorly maintained, and the overall experience was very disappointing. For the price and basic expectations of a hotel, this was far below standard. I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

We had an extremely disappointing experience. We found a cockroach in our bed, which is completely unacceptable under any circumstances. When we reported it, the staff suggested we continue staying in the same room for the night and said they might offer a different room only if one became available which was far from reassuring. What’s even more frustrating is that despite following up for over three months, they have refused to provide any refund or proper resolution. The lack of urgency, accountability, and basic customer care is shocking. I would not recommend staying here based on both the cleanliness standards and the way this situation was handled.

Avoid at all costs! A terrible experience. The rooms are outdated, the curtains are disgusting, the toilets are awful, there are no bedside lamps, and the shower curtain and toilet paper holders are completely rusted. The air conditioning is incredibly noisy and looks like it's from the 1960s. There's no storage space or coat hooks, and the room for three people is only 12 square meters. At 7:00 AM, a whole team of people arrives to clean the rooms. There's absolutely no opportunity to speak with the managers to find a solution. The only positive point was that the young woman at reception was pleasant.
