Hyatt Hotel Canberra

Highly recommend their buffet breakfast. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Food and the variety of food was excellent.

We stayed for two nights and arrived by car. Unfortunately, the hotel appeared to be short-staffed. There was no one at the entrance when we pulled up, after waited for five minutes we went inside, there was also no one at the concierge desk. We eventually had to queue at the front desk, alongside guests checking in, just to request help with our suitcases. Queued again for check-in after sorting out our luggage. In the room, there was only one power adaptor available, and additional adaptors were not available to borrow, which was inconvenient. The corridor leading to our room was extremely cold. The room itself was also freezing. Unfortunately, both phones in the room were not working, and as we were exhausted after driving up from Melbourne, we decided to layer up in fleece and use extra blankets in the room for the night rather than report it immediately. Even the toilet seat was icy cold. We informed the front desk the next day, and to their credit, maintenance came to fix the heating. Although the room remained cooler than expected, it became bearable. The handheld shower head was broken, could only use the overhead shower. The gym and swimming pool felt more like those in a community centre. There isn’t 24-hour room service (perhaps it’s norm in Canberra we have no idea). On the positive side, the staff were generally pleasant, and the property itself is gorgeous. The patio area is beautiful, can imagine it would be especially lovely in the summer. The room was spacious and spotless, and the Le Labo toiletries were a nice touch. Overall, this did not meet the standard I would expect from a Park Hyatt.

I've stayed at the park Hyatt Sydney, Seoul, Kyoto and Hyatt properties in the USA and Europe. This one is one of my favorites. The layout is so unique in that it is a mixture of ranch style with multiple lounges and gardens. The hotel interior reminds me of elegance from the 1920s with hardwood floors and decorative walls and ceilings. Beautiful place to get married. I'm a fan of breakfast buffets and I really liked theirs. Also the hotel has an official dog owned by the manager that is precious
