Kontra (Lesbian Group)

Kontra (Lezbijska grupa Kontra) is a Zagreb-based lesbian human-rights organisation and one of the pioneers of the Croatian LGBTIQ movement. It established Croatia's first lesbian SOS and information line, provides legal aid and advocacy, and was a co-organiser of the first Zagreb Pride. Kontra works on documentation of discrimination and hate crime, legal protection, and lesbian visibility, frequently partnering with other Croatian LGBTIQ groups such as Iskorak. It is a resource organisation rather than a nightlife venue, and a key part of the capital's activist infrastructure.
