Hôtel Rochat Bâle

A very warm welcome, very comfortable and clean rooms. I highly recommend it. It's located close to the city center (on the Rhine), the cathedral, and some university buildings. Beautiful setting and lovely hotel.

Just back from a long weekend at the hotel. Really great location, so easy to walk to everything from there. All the staff were really friendly and helpful and the room itself, though small, was clean and comfortable. We overlooked the courtyard and really enjoyed both the birds and the bells - amazing to hear both so clearly in the city. A great base to explore Basel from and would happily return.

The receptionist, who wore glasses and spoke French, was busy with two elderly female customers. I waited very politely for about 5-8 minutes. Then she asked me what I wanted. I told her I was looking for the room, and she said, "Please wait," which I was already doing anyway. She had spoken to me, and I simply answered when she asked. After that, she told me it cost 270 Swiss francs, and I asked her how much it was in euros. I told her she couldn't tell me the price in euros because my internet wasn't working. She said, "No, we only talk in Swiss francs." She was incredibly rude!

The hotel is in a very good location. Basel City Hall is about a 5-10 minute walk away, making transportation very convenient. Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and was quite good. Tea, coffee, and other drinks are offered free of charge until 9 PM. If you're tired from sightseeing, you can stop by the hotel, have a cup of tea or coffee, rest a bit, and then go out again. I would also like to thank Kristina, Flavio, and Guisela at the reception. They are very kind and helpful. They try to help with everything. The other staff were also friendly. The family room we stayed in was a sufficient size. The hotel is generally clean, and I can recommend it to everyone.

In the heart of Basel. Well located. Almost everything is within walking distance. The tram stop is also nearby.

Quiet and just steps from the city center, very clean, with very comfortable bedding and courteous, helpful staff, this hotel is perfect for a short stay near the city center. Excellent value for money!

Very friendly welcome at reception. We were able to check into our room on the morning of our arrival. Hot drinks (from 11:00 am) were available all day. Central location for exploring the historic old town on foot.
