L'Auberge Prince

Nice inn with very distinctive decorations. Service was fantastic, the owner was very welcoming ensuring we knew how to use the shower and explaining everything to us. Easy parking right out the front on the street plus there is a car park out the back. No keys to rooms you're provided with a number code instead. Great location easy walk into town to restaurants etc. Couple of suggested improvements - breakfast is only served for an hour starting at 8am. Would be great to extend that for an hour starting at 7 or 7.30am to reduce the breakfast rush when the inn is full. It's a communal breakfast so expect to sit with other guests. Continental buffet only similar to a roadside motel with yoghurt, fruit, bagels, cereal and packaged oatmeal. Eggs available on request. Note also that cooking scents waft into the rooms from the kitchen, we found this in the evening before bed, which may be an issue if you're sensitive to smells.

A very quaint bed and breakfast. Located in a heritage building, Cindy offers a very personal stay at the Prince Inn. The rooms are very luxurious, appointed with very nice reproduction furniture and fixtures. Beds are very comfortable with warm duvets for chilly spring and fall nights. Location is great, just a few blocks from the downtown and waterfront areas. So many restaurants and attractions to choose from. Breakfast is served from 8 to 9 in the dining room, which makes you feel like eating back in the 1920's. The house is beautiful. Lots of parking, and access to highways leading to the wood island ferry. And really, just about the entire island is 45 minutes away.

I highly recommend this Airbnb! The front desk service was very warm and welcoming. The environment is clean, tidy, and full of European charm, creating a very comfortable atmosphere. The room is well-equipped with everything you need, making the stay both convenient and enjoyable. Perfect for both short trips and longer stays. I would definitely love to come back again!

Great location, walking distance to the historic area and downtown. The hostess is a very accommodating, helpful and friendly person. She is a great resource to ask about places to visit around PEI. Breakfast with fruit, baking, yoghurt etc.was great and coffee was good. It's all very clean and the staff are hard working.

Fantastic Stay at The Prince Inn! We loved our stay at The Prince Inn in Charlottetown. The room was spotless, the breakfast had a great variety of options, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Cindy, the hostess, was absolutely wonderful — friendly, kind, and incredibly helpful. Highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting PEI!

EDIT: In their response, the owner wants to blame my surgery for my discomfort as if my surgery was recent. I had my surgery 10 years ago. We have traveled many times since then and have never had this problem because the hotels we visited were honest when asked a simple question. The issue is that my husband was lied to. If they had been honest, we would not have booked. That is the problem here. My husband booked a room here for the beginning of our 10 day trip in PEI. We also had a room booked for when we returned to Charlottetown but we have since cancelled that booking and booked a room elsewhere. The exterior of the hotel is beautiful however if you are expecting genuine antiques and a period feel, go somewhere else. The interior rooms and their furniture do not match the exterior (lots of almost tacky replicas, plastic etc.). Our main issue with this hotel has derailed our whole vacation. Before booking, my husband called to make sure that the mattress we would be sleeping on was firm. I have a chronic pain condition and have had a spinal fusion so sleeping on a soft bed is a nightmare. So far, whenever we travel, he always checks with the hotel we are considering and we have never had an issue. Unfortunately, he was assured that the mattresses were firm and we wouldn't have any problems. This was not a trivial question - when I flare up from my chronic pain, I can be left in debilitating pain for weeks if not months and my husband made this perfectly clear to the person on the phone. They very obviously just wanted our booking and told him what he wanted to hear in order to secure it. I spent the entire night pacing around the room and/or desperately trying to get comfortable on the mattress that had zero support and had a thick pillowtop. Even my husband, with no back issues or health problems, had a sore back in the morning. There is no way that mattress could ever be considered firm. We both only had about an hour of sleep. I am now almost a week since our stay and still in a terrible flare up which has affected all our other plans for our vacation. We feel that we were lied to and we immediately cancelled our second stay at the end of our vacation. This place is definitely not worth the money, even without the mattress issues. Book elsewhere.

The Prince Inn was a great B&B experience. It is just the right combination of private but convivial, elegant but comfortable, quiet but close to everything. Cindy, the manager, did a great job of making us feel welcome without being intrusive. The daily breakfast with the other guests was a great opportunity to share ideas and meet fellow travellers. The building is historic, beautiful, and tasteful, but everything works: plumbing, wifi, AC, TV. Even parking is easy, and free. We will stay with Cindy again any time we return to PEI.

The Inn is beautiful and very well kept, warm and welcoming. We were greeted by Lucy when we arrived. She was delightful and very helpful with suggestions on where to eat and things to see. The rooms are comfortable and the bed & pillows were perfect. (Not too soft). Breakfast was also very nice with a dining table that seats 16. Cindy was fabulous and offered eggs any style you wanted and they were perfect every time. Cindy was always upbeat and extremely helpful. We were here for 5 days. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you to all the staff.

We stayed May 30 to June 1, 2025. The beauty of this historic house blew me away. So many special details with all the modern ammenities in place. Our hostess was kind and helpful and they had a wide selection choices for breakfast. I highly recommend it. The beds were comfortable and our view was great. It is also walking distance to shops and many restaurants.

If you love architecture then this property is for you. Amazingly clean and in great condition. This property and owners did not disappoint.l
