La Terraza De San Juan

(English follows 😋) We stopped by this hotel on a whim for lunch and were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves dining on the rooftop. The portions were generous and the dishes were original: we tried a Peruvian dish as well as several Colombian options. Everything was simple, flavorful, and delicious. The service was friendly and welcoming. We also really appreciated the hotel's setting. There was a Peruvian dish and several Colombian options, all simple, tasty, and really enjoyable. The service was friendly and welcoming. We also really appreciated the beautiful setting of the hotel.

Bathroom is very old, unappealing with dripping shower facet, leaks onto floor, no floor matt to keep feet dry. Poor lighting. Light on dressing are with mirror did not work even though we alerted them. However, the water was hot. The bed was comfortable, room quiet and the A /C worked well. Great location.

So far this has been a really terrible experience. No one answers the phone at the front desk and the voice mail is full. They provided a second phone number; no one answers that one either. When I told the girl at the front desk that no one answers the phone, she ignored me. They recommended a parking lot that closes at midnight. Why would you recommend a parking lot without 24 hours to someone spending the night at a HOTEL?

I was nervous checking in after reading some of the reviews and even mentioned my concern to the woman who helped us with check-in. We'll, I was so pleasantly surprised. Look, it's an old building in a very old town, right in the middle of town. It is not the 4 Seasons or the Ritz, for sure, and you can expect some activity and noise around you, because, obviously, you're in the middle of town. Our room was clean and comfortable. We stayed on the first floor and experienced a quiet, comfortable stay. The staff was VERY nice and accommodating. I enjoyed a delicious morning coffee while catching up on some work. Our breakfast was great and we were able to hang out on the beautiful rooftop while we waited to board our cruise ship. Give this place a chance, you won't regret it.

We just returned from our first trip to San Juan with our two daughters (11 and 13). We chose this hotel specifically for the rooftop pool, thinking it would give us a nice midday break during sightseeing. When we arrived, we were surprised to see the pool was closed for construction. We had not received any prior notice, which was frustrating given that it was a major factor in our booking. The room itself was passable, but several basics were missing. There were no trash cans at all, no drinking glasses, and no access to ice or water anywhere on the property. The room also had a strong musty smell. More concerning, there was a service door connected to our room that did not feel secure, which made the space feel less safe than expected. By the second day, it became clear that not having the pool significantly impacted our stay, especially with kids. We decided to check out early and move to another hotel. At the front desk, we calmly explained the situation and asked if there was any flexibility on the cost given the lack of communication about the pool closure. We were told nothing could be done, and that the manager was unavailable for the rest of the day. When we asked if the manager could be contacted or follow up with us, we were told she would not be contacted and may or may not reach out. The tone of the interaction was dismissive and, at times, surprisingly unprofessional. I did become frustrated, but before leaving I made a point to apologize directly to the staff member and acknowledge that it wasn’t her fault. That apology was met with silence. We never heard from management. This hotel may be acceptable at a lower price point, but at its current rate, the lack of communication, basic amenities, and customer service make it difficult to recommend.

Loved our stay here- perfect location. Pool was closed when we stayed which was super disappointing and we didn’t get any compensation for it. But would stay here again if the pool was open.

Breakfast was awesome. Everything walking distance. Awesome view

This hotel looks beautiful and we are looking forward to staying here soon! If we arrive earlier (prior to check in) can we store our luggage there while we explore the area?

Air conditioner didn’t work. Couldn’t lock the door

NEVER STAY HERE! They will not let you in during the night, even though at check in thew will tell you about 24 hours service. I guess I will be sleeping on the street tonight

Located in Old San Juan in a classic building, within walking distance of any of the fortresses. Eventhough it's an old renovated building, the bathroom situation in our room was not ideal (see below).
