Halloween at Hotel Monte Vista

Old downtown hotel in need of upgrades for basics. Extremely loud on weekends with no parking. Parking option they provided was garage across street at $80 for one night. Front desk service was friendly and helpful.

Can’t say that I was to impressed for as much as they charge. No microwave, no fridge. There is a hair dryer . Toilets and bathrooms are small so if you are a heavier person you will have to be creative in maneuvering your body to wipe if you take a poo. Beds are ok. They do have real comforters rather that drapery. If you want go sleep and it’s the weekend bring ear plugs because there is a bar and you can hear quite a bit.

The bar in this hotel has the absolute rudest staff in the city. Every time we have gone there, we’ve had a negative experience with one of the bartenders. Must trickle down from the owner. You can always tell how well the place is run by the owners response. Notice you don’t see a single response to any review meaning they really don’t give a damn. There are much better bars in Flagstaff.

I did not stay here, however, I had such a pleasure of speaking with Olyver! His customer service was absolutely beautiful, and although I needed a hotel with a pool, should I not need one in the future when visiting America, I will be staying here and asking for Olyver specifically!

It's a really cool hotel. Great location. Has a small parking lot. The staff is chill and they really preserved the hotel well. That being said, it is obviously old and can be dusty. We stayed in room 312. It was convenient but right above the bar below and we could hear people partying all night unfortunately. Strage that it was a Tuesday too. The bed was not so good. It was the most ancient bed and very uncomfortable. Too soft and bouncy. The pillows had no neck support. I also had to rearrange the wall decor in our room because there were 3 mirrors reflecting off eachother.... attracting spirits if you know what I mean.... For the experience, I would not have it any other way. It was cool to stay 1 night and explore town PSA: this hotel is supposedly haunted but we didn't experience any paranormal stuff 👻

Nice old hotel that has been renovated. Bath/showers and toilets are communal in the hallway, which is okay. However for the shower, there is no place to hang your towel or clothes, not even a peg on the wall. Bar downstairs is nice and makes great drinks. However, the music goes on until late, and then the patrons stumble out into the street to add to the noise. I would have loved it if I was still in college or getting hammered at the bar. Trying to get a decent night's sleep was impossible, though. If you don't mind staying in a nice, historic, frat house, sign right up. Otherwise, find another place to sleep and just enjoy a nice drink at the bar.

I recently stayed at Hotel Monte Vista, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. Upon check-in, I was aware that my initial room did not include a private bathroom, which I was okay with. However, shortly after settling in, I used the shared restroom and was shocked by how unsanitary it was. The toilet was visibly dirty, the floors were unclean, and there were fecal marks on the toilet seat and surrounding areas. It appeared as though the restroom had not been properly cleaned for quite some time, which is completely unacceptable. Because of this, I returned to the front desk and paid to upgrade to a room with a private bathroom. While the upgraded room was more appropriate, I should not have had to spend additional money just to avoid such poor and unhygienic conditions. Later that night, I experienced an even more disturbing situation involving a security guard. While waiting in the lobby for a food delivery, my service dog was sitting quietly at my feet and not bothering anyone. The security guard approached us in an aggressive and hostile manner, questioning why my dog was not on a leash. I explained that it is a service animal, but he continued to escalate the situation. He began raising his voice and demanded to know what my disability was, even stating that I “did not look like” I had a disability. This was extremely inappropriate, invasive, and discriminatory. The situation became so uncomfortable that a front desk employee had to step in and tell the security guard to leave us alone. This interaction completely ruined our night. The following morning, we checked out early and booked a stay at a different hotel. We attempted to report these issues to staff at the front desk, but were told no manager was available. When we followed up later, we were informed that the hotel does not handle formal complaints and that we would need to contact our bank or leave a review. Overall, this experience was handled in a very unprofessional and inappropriate manner. Between the unsanitary conditions and the way we were treated, I would not recommend staying here.

Historic value is the draw. Quirky, themed rooms, and very busy downstairs bars. Rooms are outdated and cleanliness could be improved upon - beware the noise from the bars can be heard on all floors until closing. All in all, a historic location in the Flagstaff area with many dining and shopping options within walking distance.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed at in my entire life. There are not one but two separate bars in the lower level that play pulsing music until Midnight for one, 2:00AM for the other. On a Tuesday. It was literally impossible to sleep in this hotel, which is an important part of the whole staying at a hotel experience. The only reason to stay here is if you plan on going to the bar and closing it. ADDED BONUS! They blew off my wake-up call! If I had missed my train the next one was only 24 hours later. This place sucks. Don’t stay here.

I had an amazing time during my stay at the Monte Vista. Everyone was so nice and the hotel was a historical wonderland. The bars downstairs were hopping and popping. That being said it was no disturbance to my room on the second floor. The bartenders and the hotel staff were absolutely amazing. Everything was totally awesome.I would recommend staying to anyone.

The hotel is beautiful from the inside of didn’t expect no 5star hotel is a unique and very historical building plus the history to this location. Also having said this hotel is haunted is a plus! We stayed one night and me and my partner both had nightmares in this room couldn’t sleep after 2:30pm and our dreams were about the room! Pretty creepy!! Definitely recommend if you love the paranormal.
