Le 23rd Street Station est le bar gay de quartier avec piano et karaoké de Galveston, niché dans le quartier historique du centre-ville, à quelques pâtés de maisons de The Strand. Les habitués le décrivent comme la salle la plus sympathique de l'île — un espace petit et accueillant où le piano et le karaoké en open mic animent la soirée et où les nouveaux venus sont rapidement intégrés à la foule. C'est le terrain de jeu du Galveston Gay Chorus et, avec Robert's Lafitte, l'un des deux principaux lieux de rassemblement LGBTQ+ de l'île. Attendez-vous à une foule mixte et bavarde, des verres généreux et un rythme tranquille plutôt qu'à une grande soirée en club.

Sheri and Clay were awesome! Highlight of my trip! Wish they had some food to snack on. But other than that we had a great time.

The bartenders were professional and the drinks were cold and well made, but the piano duet was a total bust. Not sure how to rate a piano bar that had a great bar but a bad piano show. The musicians were not drunk or mean - they tried hard and they did what they could, but it was absolutely not worth a $10 cover charge. I happily pay a cover because In most cases it is well with the price, but these guys were not good enough to play on a cruise ship or coffee bar in my opinion. They were off key. The tempo between them was off beat, and they played the same old sappy piano bar music from 30 years ago (crocodile rock/piano man, etc) and it was far and away the worst version i have heard live - ever. My kudos to the bartenders who were still all smiles and professional even though the bad music was clearly hurting their pocket book. The owner(s) would be careful not to lose them and hire better musicians.
