Foley House Inn

Pretty much in the center of the city. Staff super friendly. Apparently haunted.

Just where you want to be. Our room is huge and well appointed. A new bathroom within a historic building. This is exactly what you want and where you want to be. Walking is easy. The disappointment is breakfast. By 9am it is cold. It’s a buffet. Little pre-shaped “omelets” are not in my expectation. Everything else is spot on.

We stayed here recently for 3 nights. We got in late which was fine and they sent us a door code to get in. Our room was spacious and the bathroom updated. The rug in our room absolutely needs to get thrown away. It was matted down from use and had numerous pet stains on it. The rugs in the hallway of the inn were no better. Really needs some TLC. Breakfast was just okay. Extremely limited selection and when the clock hits 9:58am that food is going away lol. Most historic bed and breakfasts I’ve stayed at in Savannah make your food to order which is not the case here. No one even fills up your coffee cup. Our room was never cleaned the entire time we stayed here. We flipped our sign to “service please” and never received service. We were out all days that we were there. The inn is in a nice location and is close to many things.

We had a wonderful time at the Foley house Inn. Our room was absolutely beautiful and we'll appointed. The breakfast was great, and the attendants were so sweet and accommodating! The front desk staff was also phenomenal. We will definitely book again!

My wife and I just got back from a 3 night weekend trip to Savannah where we stayed at the Foley House Inn. We loved staying here. The location was great, we walked everywhere we wanted to go with no issues at all, and there was a nice park right across the street. The service was great, especially Chuck and Deedee, who were really great to talk to and super nice. And the room was very nice and comfortable with a large, updated bathroom. My wife and I love staying at old buildings that have been turned into BnB's on our trips and this was a very nice one. There's a lot you can expect from an old building that may need repaired, but that adds to the charm. The breakfasts were very good and service was great for them. We would definitely stay here again.

The look of the place is right but there’s stuff that needs spruced up. The breakfast was a total disappointment. I could literally get the same thing at a Best Western. I’ve stayed at several historic properties in Savannah and this is not up to par. Great location and nice young lady at check-in although a little slow to notice I was struggling with the steps. Unlike several others I would not return to this place

Elegantly appointed rooms. Felt like we stepped back in time and living the good life. 😊 Great view of the park and surrounding historic buildings from our balcony room. We enjoyed this place very much!

What a great experience! We have been to Savannah numerous times staying in a different B&B each time, never disappointed. The Foley House was a wonderful addition to our stays. The staff were so kind and welcoming. The house and room were clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable with a bonus courtyard sitting area. The location in Chippewa Square was perfectly nestled in the heart of downtown, within walking distance to everything. The breakfast was fantastic and well-rounded, thank you to the kitchen crew! The afternoon fresh baked cookies were a bonus. Thank you for having us and providing a wonderful getaway!

Love staying here. Had my first strange experience while staying in room 303. Firstly, that room is next to the back stairs and has a great little patio to sit at on those stairs, the room itself is gorgeous, spacious, and clean. The story about the body being found in the wall was supposedly found many years back during renovations, right underneath that room!!! Lol. SO.....at around 3am this strange quick tapping began periodically along the floor between the bed and bathroom which woke us up a few times. It sounded like a mix between water dripping fast to slow or a door creaking but hard to say which. However, both myself AND my girlfriend BOTH had sleep paralysis in conjunction with similar dreams. Both of our dream were set in the Foley House during a party or generally just lots of random people around us, but she saw a man in a black suit and a hat with either ashes or some kind of black stuff smeared on his face which she further described him as floating or "sliding" around the room very quickly. Similarly, in MY dream...I found myself in the same room with many other guests but I was trying to clean off black hair dye or some black ink or something that was both covering and dripping off my head and face and it was smeared all over the bathroom sink as well, but while I was trying to clean it all off, I saw a female burst into the room wearing a giant pink Victorian ballroom party dress with the big white wig and she burst in the room sliding around really fast and was laughing while throwing her arms up. So anyway, after we both discussed our dreams and the sleep paralysis, I did some video on my phone and captured both what sounded like a man groaning in agony and a weird raspy voice that said something I couldnt make out. We also heard someone walking down the hall toward our room and the footsteps sounded very much like shoes on hardwood floor BUT THERE IS CARPET THROUGHOUT THE HALLWAY. We even checked in the morning and there is no way you can make that kind of sound while walking through that hallway. There was also some knocking above us that we couldnt explain. So anyway, breakfast was super nice! Loved the ghostly spooky experience and ill definitely try to stay again soon.

My Husband and I stayed there in mid September, 2025 as part of a 5 day vacation to Savannah. General info - Excellent location, directly between all the main tourist spots we wanted to see. The gardens were beautiful. I have limited mobility and booked it knowing there were no elevators, I called ahead of time to ensure our room was easy for me to access. (Which it seemed to be from what I read at booking) The man with whom I spoke, confirmed we were on the garden level. We got to walk through them every time we came in or left the property, sooooo beautiful. There was a slight mechanical problem in the room that could not be fixed while we were staying there, (it could be and was jury-rigged to work safely for the duration of our stay) we were offered an upgrade due to the "inconvenience" of the issue, (which once it was jury-rigged really was a non-issue) While the upgraded room was even more incredible, (which is saying a lot because I loved our room it was amazing) I could not climb the stairs everyday, I managed it once to see the option and the view from upstairs. If you can do the stairs, do it, the view was spectacular. The staff - So nice, above and beyond the typical "staff nice" you see at pretty much every hotel. Everyone with whom we spoke was incredible. Enthusiastic about the hotel itself, the decor, the food at the continental breakfast, the cookies and teas mid-afternoon(I'll come back to that below), Savannah, its tourist spots and its history. Dedee in particular (and I apologize if I misspelled her name) was one of the sweetest people I have ever met in my life. She stopped by our table every morning to see if we needed anything, to chat if we were up for it, and generally just to wish us an amazing day. She answered every question my husband and I had, about the food, the hotel and its history. We came to find out she was the one cooking the food at the continental breakfast, everything they served was amazing. We had a question about one of the items they served and she took the time to go back into the kitchen to get the answer for us and bring it to our room so we would have it when we got back at the end of the day. Mind you this was completely above and beyond as it wasn't an allergy type question it was a hey this is really good can you tell me how you made it and what brand kind of a thing. She did and I am looking forward to trying to make it now that we are home. Her spinach croissants were my absolute favorite. The ghosts - since it's Savannah and so many others have commented about them it seems wrong to leave them out of the review. We saw nothing out of the ordinary, we experienced nothing out of the ordinary. We heard the stories and read them online (when I got home - because I'm a "chicken-puppy'). However the fact that nothing happened did not prevent everyone in Savannah that we met, when finding out where we were staying, from saying..... "Ooooh the Foley House. Did you know it was haunted when you booked it?" Or "ooooh, that's haunted, is that why you stayed there?" The answer to both of those is "It's in Savannah, it is a really old city and a really old building so yeah, there are ghost stories about lots of places there. (We did several ghost tours because I love scary stories). Some people have reported seeing / experiencing things at Foley house. We did not. We for the most part, don't really believe in such things. However that didn't prevent me from bringing an EMF detector and those light up cat ball toy things, turning them on and leaving them around the room as an early warning sign, just in case. Because, as I said before : me ="chicken-puppy". They did not light up at all except when my husband kicked them because I had left them somewhere stupid. Quick summary - if you want an amazing experience at a quiet hotel in Savannah. I highly highly highly recommend the Foley house. Our time there was truly incredible. All of this was at a reasonable price for the location, service, and ambiance. Great value.

My husband and I have stayed there a few times now and every time is great. The staff is friendly, the rooms are nice, they allow large dogs (100 lbs), and the location is perfect. We will continue coming back.

Amazing inn! Perfect location! We could walk to every place we wanted to see from the Foley House. It was quaint and looked exactly like an inn from the 1800s should look but had all the modern amenities like sinks and faucets and plugs etc. The staff was super friendly and helpful! We would definitely stay here again if we came to Savannah!
