Stockholm has a relaxed attitude to sexuality and a well-established gay scene centred on Södermalm. Outdoor cruising happens in the city's green spaces; indoor options include a sauna and various bars with cruisy reputations.
Outdoor Areas
- Royal Djurgården — the large island park east of the city centre; wooded areas near the waterfront are a long-established cruising location. Active in summer evenings. The park is also a major tourist destination (Vasa Museum, ABBA Museum, Skansen) so the cruising areas are in the quieter wooded sections away from the main paths.
- Södermalm — Stockholm's gay neighbourhood also has some parkland cruising around Tantolunden park; less organised than Djurgården but active on warm evenings.
- Texas Sauna — Stockholm's main gay sauna; wet facilities, private cabins, and a cruisy atmosphere. Located in the city; check current address as gay saunas in Stockholm have moved premises over the years. Men-only.
- Patricia — bar and club on a boat (MS Patricia) moored at Söder Mälarstrand; long-running gay venue with weekend parties, drag shows, and a cruisy late-night atmosphere. One of Stockholm's most distinctive LGBTQ+ venues — the boat setting is genuinely fun.
- Secret Garden — gay bar in Södermalm with a dark-room area; more explicitly cruisy than the mainstream bars.
- King Kong — leather and bear bar in Södermalm; darkroom, fetish events, and a cruisy atmosphere.

Centralbadet
A historic public bath complex on Drottninggatan — technically not a gay venue but a beautiful old bathhouse with pool, sauna, and steam facilities open to all. Worth visiting for the Art Nouveau building alone. Gay men use the facilities alongside everyone else; the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable.
Stockholm Pride
Stockholm Pride is in late July / early August — one of Scandinavia's largest Pride events, with the parade moving from Östermalm through the city. EuroPride has been held in Stockholm multiple times. The city is exceptionally welcoming; same-sex couples can show affection openly throughout without issue.
